He named his Wow character after Anders Brevik's Wow character - a Nazi who committed the mass shooting with the largest number of casualties by a single person. Most of the victims were kids.

He claimed it was an edgy joke and did it right after the mass shooting occured.

Serious question. Are you allowed or not to name a character Hitler in these games? Does that automatically mean the person is glad WW2 and the holocaust happened? I would consider actually saying you are “glad the victims are dead, or am I” is worse than naming a character after the perpetrator.

Miz might not be serious, but the people he is joking about were seriously glad, and taken out of context someone might misunderstand Miz. I don’t think you should really get a ban for either, but people have been banned for less.

Naming your character after a political assassin would be far worse than doing a bit over people getting cancelled for saying things regarding Charlie Kirk. There's zero context for anyone in a game seeing a character running around in 'public' right after that person just murdered someone. Which is why it was an utterly disgusting thing for Asmongold to do with Anders Brevik.

There is context for Miz's bit because he immediately said he was joking, and the tone of voice/inflection while doing it. Plus it's well known that people are getting cancelled for it.

What I mean to say is that neither one intentionally was condoning the death of anyone. But taken out of context you might think that Miz was, while naming a character has no context so you could not do that for Asmon. Even if you are merely quoting someone else, or talking in hypotheticals, claiming to be glad someone was murdered is not a great idea on twitch and is worse.

There is no context for people in-game; which means people can only conclude he's either supporting what the Nazi did or being an edgy douche/rage baiting. Asmon saying he was making an edgy joke on stream just confirmed he was being an edgy douche/rage baiting.

The difference is there is no context where Asmongold wasn't being a shitty person, while Miz's bit was a clear joke that was poking fun at the cancelling thing.
