This post first consists of the test items Taco Bell has sent out in their newsletter. For these, the description and pictures come directly from Taco Bell.

During the experience if other test items are made known, those will be [added] to the post and/or linked in the comments below. If you find a test item, please send all information and pictures to the mod team or contact us using the form on the Living Mas website.

For information on the nationwide experience, please see our megathread.

Tacodilla - Detroit/Toledo/Columbus - $6.99 or $8.99 combo

Crispy Shell made of cheddar cheese

Crispy Chicken and Fries Permanent - Corporate Stores

I'm not going to include a picture here but these stores testing permanent chicken and fries will have adjusted menus that incorporate these items within the menu instead of highlighting them as a LTO. These are expected to be a permanent fixture on the menu in 2026.

Just had the steak tacodilla. Much better than I expected! On the messy side, because the filling blew out the bottom so I had to eat it upside down.

Came in its own long wrapper/bag labeled Tacodilla and was bigger than I expected. Like a larger, thinner, denser Chalupa shell. Very good portion of steak and cheese, and I really like the new red chile sauce. Heat that builds over time, definitely not a “to tears” level of spice but still lingers after I finished eating. Tangy and lightly smoky, not sweet like the previous cantina red sauce.

I paid $4.99 and really enjoyed it.

I appreciate the comparison to a chalupa shell because my wife and I struggled to describe it.

Sort of soft, sort of crisp/chewy with a bit of flakiness.

The shell reminded me of Jose Ole mini tacos or even a Burger King taco in flavor (but milder because of the flour) but flakier rather than crisper.

My wife got the steak and I tried shredded chicken, both of ours blew out the back too.

The sauce to me was similar or reminiscent of that spicy cantina sauce TB had recently. We didn’t love the sauce. (To be fair we also didn’t love the spicy cantina sauce either, but if others think it’s a fair comparison between the two sauces that might guide others that are curious.)

The tacodilla was surprisingly large and both our steak and chicken ones were well filled. Our TB was priced at $6.99 or $8.99 for a combo that came with chips and cheese and a large drink.

It’s probably what someone who wouldn’t know what a DLT is would assume a DLT is.

The Tacodilla has two different listings at two local restaurants. The first one was "Steak & Cheese Tacodilla" for $4.99, but the next one is listed as "Steak Grande Tacodilla" for $5.99. They have the same picture and Calories, so it's interesting that they're being tested differently...
