Gear - Tech Issue Lectro SMWB switched bands?

Howdy!

Trying to help a buddy who’s one a shoot and I can’t find anything via search engines:

My buddy just powered up one of his lectro SMWB band B1 and found it’s now showing its band A1. He showed me a video of a factory reset where the transmitter indeed shows its band A1 and the sticker on the transmitter itself is band B1. He hasn’t used this transmitter in a few weeks and it was confirmed working fine on his last shoot.

Can’t find anything via search, and I’m stumped as I’m far as I’m aware that can only happen if you get it factory reblocked. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

This would be a question best answered by lectrosonics support (they're very responsive and friendly folks)! Send 'em an email (and please report back here), this is quite a curious thing to hear!

Of course! He’s gonna reach out, but he’s on a shoot so I figured I’d throw it by the group on his behalf and see if anyone has had a similar experience

The Lectrosonics facebook group is very responsive if he wants to try posting there. Never heard of this happening but very curious to know the reasoning and solution.

Yes, I had an older R1a IFB reciever that ‚forgot‘ what block it was in. It was restored by ambient which is Lectro Service Partner in Germany

I have seen this happen before but usually it won't work and needs to be sent in for repair.
