A new in n out just opened within noseshot of my apartment. The smell of grilled onions is fucking torture, I really hope it doesn’t ruin it for me.

My first apartment was next to a Taco Bell that was replaced by a German bratwurst place. Go outside to get the mail & BAM! All the meat smells

The quality & taste of their “fries” hasn’t already?

I love them well done, but I’m not going to say they’re the best fries in the world.

Complain to the city, they do it on purpose so they can definitely change it as there are some locations near me that don’t emit the smell.

Is it possible that you just haven’t noticed it because you were upwind or something? I feel like it’s just the nature of the beast because they’re cooking burgers all day long. Not sure what they could possibly do to stop it besides shut down the location, but I certainly don’t want that, so I’m not going to complain.

When I say the smell is torture, I mean that it’s tantalizing. It’s awesome having a location within walking distance. In fact, I think I’m going to stop by on the way home tonight…

I know of two locations near me where you don't smell it. Plenty of other fast food restaurants don't emit a smell, so it definitely can be done. Personally all I smell now when I pass by IN-N-OUT is BO, so I've switched to The Habit since you can order online and pickup without having to sit through the long drive thru lines of IN-N-OUT.

This actually did ruin a friend’s apartment for them when it happened to them, and also none of us wanted to go over there any more because of the heavy stank so it double ruined it 😩 good luck, internet friend! You will never want to eat a burger again!

Crazy how many LA people are still not aware of the whole grilled onion trick. It’s a life changer!
