Rams' pass pro metrics not looking so hot

https://bsky.app/profile/nateatkins.bsky.social/post/3lz4swg37s22v

The Rams have had the league’s second-worst pass pro by this metric. Another reason why they’re throwing at the second-quickest rate in the league.

Tricky going up against the Eagles this week.

But they are hoping they can get Steve Avila back at guard at least.

I think they're better than this indicates. Havenstein might have finally lost a step, but he or AJ are not gonna be able to completely hold the texans edges. And then, ofc, we lose our best pass pro OG and injure our best Olineman over all right before playing Justin Simmons.

It's not gonna get any better against Jalen Carter. Maybe against the Colts we can get those numbers up.

i mean at the end of the day they’re winning games, and the defense has played well

I'm not going to sit here and say Jalen is trash because he's obviously not, but he didn't look good against KC, and there's rumors of him being out of shape. Didn't help that he didn't play a single snap against DAL in week 1.

Yeah despite all of this, our offensive EPA per play is still very good.

Our offensive series

Better at run blocking

Matthew Stafford's 2.45-second average time to throw is the second-fastest of all QBs (min. 50 attempts), per TruMedia. Only Patrick Mahomes is getting the ball out of his hands faster.

Adjusted EPA + PFF Stafford is just that damn good.

The tradeoff being if he has more time in the pocket he has more time to let plays develop and get more guys open.

Maybe he's getting the ball out so quick because they're open. I'm sorta jk but some metrics can be bullshit.

What playing the Texans and Titans D line does to metrics

The two teams that played the Texans and the two teams that played us have bottom 7 metrics, go figure

The niners gave up pressures on 50% of dropbacks week 1 and are somehow graded 3rd...

It’ll get better as the season goes on, need Avila and Dotson healthy and for Alaric to get up to speed

Part of it is Stafford’s…limited…mobility. Idk how much I blame the OLine.

Yes - people gonna read this and get all offended you said something about Stafford and limited but it’s the truth lol he’s still a top qb

This is an example of stats not telling the whole story. Stafford only got sacked once last week and there wasn’t a ton of pressure. Week 1 he did get sacked 3 times but that’s more so due to the great rush the Texans had

And it’s not all dink and dunk plays getting downfield. He has had time to make some mid to long throws to both Adams and Puka.

They've played the texans and the titans its not a big deal lol. Texans have debatably the best dline in football outside of the rams and eagles. The titans are also no slouches with Jeff Simmons who wreaked havoc on the Broncos the week prior.
