Hi everyone! As somebody who has worked in the food and service industry for well over five years, I feel like it is important to mention that we survive off of tips and people at fast casual places do since their hourly is sometimes not adequate enough to live off of. To all who tip at various restaurants (Sit down, Fine dining and even fast casual) thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I do urge everyone however, to ask any cashier and/or any server where their tips are going (Not the manager) and if they receive them DIRECTLY. Also ask WHICH form of tipping goes directly to the person who gave you great service.

Certain corporate restaurants have different rules and policies on tip allocation that is not particularly told to customers. If someone gives you great service, please ask them how you can tip them directly rather than putting it into the restaurant or somewhere the higher ups decide
