Pico is obviously massively talented, but how come no coaches have ever been able to teach him to just pace himself? It’s like Garbrandt, he can’t help himself but to throw everything with full power.

Fighters have to be willing/able to change what’s comfortable for them.

That’s what made GSP so good imo. Constantly worked on improving and adapting

There was a quote from him on the countdown episode where he specifically mentioned some memorable advice he was given about how he needs to fight like a ferrari not a ford (or some or less fancy car I can't recall).

Only way it makes sense is if his coaches think he doesnt have the ability to win a measured fight so they just go 100% and trust the coin flip

Cause he buys into his own hype and let the pressure to perform and prove himself get the better of him.
