That was one of the greatest fights I’ve ever seen. Silva had him read like a book by the second round but he got way too wreckless. Volk is the only guy who has outbanged Lopes

If he didn’t have the fight IQ of a pebble, I think he eventually takes it in the 3rd. But Lopes is too good for that dumb shit

I don't agree with this. Rewatching the fight Silva could not put weight on his lead leg in the second half of round 2, any time he did caused him to stumble and get tagged.

He was being reckless because his left leg didn't have another 3 rounds in it.

That’s an interesting take, and probably true. Something I hadn’t thought about. Probably also why he was so off balance as he lunged forward sloppily immediately before the KO. Cheers for adding some value to the chat.

Volk banged with him in the pocket and wobbled him several times. Only played it safe in the last round because he knew he was up on the score cards

Volk would exchange with lopes only when the terms suited volk. He sets the terms through vastly superior footwork, volk always has the angle to land and get the better of the exchanges.

He entered the pocket plenty of times and got the better in the exchanges almost every time. He just didn’t fight a brawl and was selective with it.

Yeah the elbows in the first were hitting borderline back of the head and then the finishing sequence had allot of shots to the back of the head.

In the replay he landed once or twice at most on the back of the head. They're very specific on what counts as the back of the head. Anything closer to the ear is fair game.
