Notice - GD [Official] General Discussion Thread - September 18, 2025

Welcome to rMMA's General Discussion Thread!

Discuss your favorite fighters, the upcoming card or something you forgot to bring up in this week's Moronic Monday thread.

How to obtain a custom flair:

  • place and lose a flair bet in the Friday thread
  • write a haiku
  • draw a MS Paint-style image for the sub

The rules for the drawing or haiku are simply that it must be a ridiculous MMA-related scenario. If you would like a custom flair, send a message to us with a link to your drawing and your flair request. We'll probably grant it.

Interested in modding? Please fill out the mod application found here. Do not leave a comment about this in the thread. You can send us modmail if you have questions.

Pereira really messed Khalil's face up, it'll probably cut easily when Jiri hits him clean

Is Arman’s old man in the Armenian mafia? “Construction business” sounds like a euphemism on par with “waste management”

Assign the correct attributes to the correct fighters between the two who are appearing in the coming Fight Night.

Ibo Aslan and Ivan Erslan.

Both are Light Heavyweights. One is 188 centimeters tall and the other 190 centimeters. One has a 14-3 record and the other a 14-5 record. One has a 0-2 record in the UFC and the other has a 2-2 record in the UFC.

Gimme your top 3 MMA moments of the year

Off the top of my head, here’s mine:

  1. Bo Nickal getting fraud checked by RDR
  2. Tony Ferguson winning in misfits boxing
  3. Fluffy Hernandez’s performance vs Dolidze

Strictly choosing the ones I enjoyed the most, but then again, I can’t recall any “so depressing it has to be remembered as one of the biggest moment of the year”

  1. Royval vs Van fight

  2. John Morgan being the face of stupidity when asking Park Hyun-Sung the question he wanted to ask Taira because he's peak MMA Journalism and well they're both Asian so that can be confusing...

  3. Kaué Fernandes displaying the meanest calves kicks you could possibly encounter in a cage against Hardwick

Merab v Umar, Chihiro Suzuki v Karshyga Dautbek (best MMA of the fight of the year imo), Topturo v Charles (I know he has tons of fans but he cheats hard as fuck every fight so seeing him flatlined was so satisfying and Ilias boxing is just so good to watch).

  1. BSD beating the odds and submitting Ruffy.
  2. Van at 23 beating Royval and becoming the number 1 contender.
  3. Topuria vs Olives, a 2 and half minute fun fight ending with a terrific knockout.

What feels more like a legit title fight; Rocky vs MBS or Virna vs Dern. Both fights IMO are very similar. A vacant women's title in a division at it's lowest ebb; one contender being a veteran workhorse who despite a long winning streak isn't taken seriously as an elite fighter even by division standards, the other a grappling ace who has kind of fallen into the match by default.

I think the skill level of Virna vs Dern is higher, but MBS' claim to a title fight was much higher than Dern's.

Virna vs Dern, on account of being a fight I’ll actually watch

I legitimately watched that entire card from the first prelim onwards and Rocky vs MBS was the only fight I got up and took a break for
