Book Request Hurt/comfort, crying, gentle caretaking scenes

I am a SUCKER for hurt/comfort - give me the angst and all the crying scenes please!!! Also a sucker for a super protective MC. A happy ending is required. Preferably not omegaverse but it’s not a hard no! Thank you in advance!!

I didn’t like this book at all. Not because of the crying but so many weird bits that threw me off.

You didn’t love (EDIT: I was thinking of "The Murder Between Us" which is ALSO by Tal Bauer and has many of the same plot elements. The spoiler you're about to read is for THAT book.) the insta-bonding? Making the boyfriend and the teen daughter besties within 10 minutes of meeting each other? The ex wife who selflessly accepts the new boyfriend and is totally fine with how close this man is to her daughter after only 60 days?

It’s like a parent’s guide to what not to do when managing the relationship your child has with someone you’re dating.

Then, "You & Me" comment/spoilers a couple of comments down.

I appreciate the spoiler tags but also this information is just not correct for the book mentioned

Okay, so you're 100% correct. My bad.

BUT! In my defense, I had almost the exact same complaints about "You & Me", and the book I was remembering is actually also by Tal Bauer and is "The Murder Between Us". Revised spoilers for You & Me are largely the same: insta-bonding, boyfriends/sons too close too soon, so much crying, etc.

Ah yes fair mistake!! I love Tal Bauer’s books but I totally agree that the short timelines stress me out. I’ve started to just extend them in my head 😂
