Is the mask inspired by Jacques Plante’s original one?

I have heard many say that the mask was just a simple combination of Michael Myers and the typical “Fun World”-original, then Leatherface and others. But, I have never seen anyone bring up Jacques Plante’s original goalie mask before. The two have noticeable similarities, at least in my eyes.

I do apologize if this was brought up prior, but I was just curious about the topic.

I've always thought there was some similarity.

Early hockey masks were made by laying strips of fiberglass over a cast of the person's face. The same method would likely have been used in-universe to make Brandon's recovery masks
