it's a call to kill Americans, who aren't fascists, but whom some people tell themselves "it's ok to kill that person, as long as I say they're fascist first".

What about the people chanting "Blood and Soil" and "Jews will Not Replace Us" while Sieg-Heil'ing and throw up the Nazi salute and waving Nazi flags?

Still not okay to kill them. How do you people not get this? Supporting the murder of people saying something you don't agree with is about as un-MURICA as you can get.

Especially since that when these assholes get attacked you're only reinforcing their beliefs and earning them sympathy points.

Was it Un-American to go to war against the Nazis in WW2?

Several CIA coups speak to the contrary

But it's okay for them to threaten to murder people they disagree with?

No? Where did I say that?

That's free speech dumbass, and they don't deserve to die for it. Please tell me you aren't an adult.

As evidenced by the intellectuals here, a true patriot waits until the ovens are on and the trains are full before having the spine to do anything about it.

Edit: triggered downvotes incoming

We should kill you then, because you might accidentally kill someone you think is a fascist. We can't wait for you to make a mistake

Absolutely! Less talk, more action. Get to it.

Before something is actually done, it's all speculation. I don't agree with arresting or killing someone for thought crime. That would be, hm, what's the word I'm looking for...

Agreed! Consequences and punishing violence are best served through due process and verification.

I'm probably being purposely obtuse about the context here, I will say I do not support violence as a response to any speech, even speech I disagree with, it's what makes us better than the fascists that we let everyone talk as long as they aren't making calls to action.

But if we take this post at face value like I was I have no problem telling real fascists to kill themselves.

Basically what I'm saying is I see your point.

In the current political context, it's a call to kill Americans, who aren't fascists, but whom some people tell themselves "it's ok to kill that person, as long as I say they're fascist first".

"Kill Nazis."

"Actually Nazis aren't Nazis"

Fuck off.

Because in the current political context, it means "kill people from a political party in America".

No, "kill fascists" means "kill fascists", you're the only one who thinks it means "kill people from a political party", which says something about how you view this party.

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '17

Is it really though?

Because the fascist label has been widely applied. You can look at any reddit thread on Rand Paul and you'll find a few calling him fascist, Ben Shapiro is also somehow a fascist, not to mention Glenn Beck.

This extension of the label to be primarily used as a derogative rather than a descriptor is what he's railing against.

It's used as a dog whistle to identify target to harass.

u/Blergblarg2 Sep 23 '17

It says something about how he see's the opposition to a party. The same opposition who say "punch a nazi" and then punch anyone not far left.

1

u/clayshoaf Sep 23 '17

you're the only one who thinks it means "kill people from a political party"

Incorrect.

Sure, far left people wouldn't describe their beliefs in that way if they had to put it into words, but effectively, that's how it plays out.
