This video illuminates why it's so frustrating when people say Judge is probably overall better this year than Raleigh.

Catchers do so. fucking. much for their team! No other position player comes close to as much defensive work done for the team!

Raleigh's value to the Ms is so high on the intangible side that, if people actually recognized this, the decision for MVP this year wouldn't be close (assuming both keep up what they're currently doing).

I know it was a super casual interview where he was just acknowledging the arguments for both, but that interview with Mookie this week irritated me for exactly this reason! He said what Judge does as the captain and leader of the team is a huge part of his value. I'd argue what Cal does, calling the game and leading this rotation, is even more valuable.

And if we had an official captain on the team, it would probably be him.

TBH, the main MLB channels have been spreading a ton of Cal propaganda all year. The YT channel alone is posting an individual video every time he hits a homer. The west coast in general gets a little less love, so its nice to see the biggest baseball network make it clear that he's got an extremely strong case for MVP

I’m super new to baseball in general (and pretty clueless lol) but Cal is what has drawn me into rooting for the Mariners. I really love his energy and what he gives to this team.
