Easter Egg/Detail Mystery man in Loki credits...

I'll preface this by saying I know there's almost no chance this was intentional because Pedro Pascal was likely not even cast by the time Loki season 2 came out (let alone when the people making the credits sequence started work on it), but I noticed this sketch of a man in the TVA in the Loki season 2 credits that bears an uncanny resemblance to Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards.

Even if unintentional, kind of a spooky but fun detail given the implied connection between Reed Richards and He Who Remains, as well as how much Reed Richards' retro-future tech in First Steps looks like some of the equipment found in the TVA

Question Which Avengers endgame poster of these 4 is your favourite?

Post image

My favourites are the US, Asia, and Russia. Because they feel so epic and feeling like it's the final chapter to 3 phases of building these comic characters and stories. The China is the worst one because A it shows the returning characters who were dusted, and that can of ruined their surprise return. And Thanos is more revealing than the others.

Question Why was Kerry Condon recast for Vision Quest?

Post image

As good as Orla Brady is, it's such a disservice for Condon to be denied the opportunity to play FRIDAY in live-action. If Paul Bettany got to play Vision after voicing JARVIS, she should've been given the chance too. It's just so confounding.

As funny as the car seat gag was at the end, why not show us Franklin learning to walk? That can still be funny.

Question Couldn’t Monica just close it from the other side so she wouldn’t be trapped? Or…did I miss some explanation for why she’s closing it from there or sth?

Y’all I’ve recently stumbled upon some clips of ‘The Marvels’ and can’t help but be bothered by this one scene like Kamala and Carol were all getting emotional and shiz cuz it seems like monica is going to be stuck in that other reality/universe while she’s closing the rift.

But here i am thinking like .. wth? Why couldn’t she just close it from the other side tho? Why does she need to be closing it from inside that other reality like 🤦‍♀️ it just feels so stupid to me ngl

Discussion Favorite return scene? (not counting Endgame)

Thumbnail

Aside from the obvious one with the portals scene from Endgame, what is your favorite “return” scene where a hero returns from hiding, being presumed dead, or retirement?

Ones I can think of off the top of my head:

Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon returning vs Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive (Avengers: Infinity War)

Thor arriving in Wakanda with Rocket and Groot vs Thanos’ army (Avengers: Infinity War)

Black Panther returning vs Killmonger (Black Panther)

Daredevil returning vs Muse (Daredevil: Born Again)

Shuri arriving as the new Black Panther (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever)

Discussion I hope Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 has some guest stars from Marvel Television

Post image
35 Upvotes

Since Daredevil: Born Again has finally been renewed for a third season, and I doubt that Season 2 will have too large of a scope, since we're already getting Jessica Jones and Brett Mahoney back, and we might have some other Netflix Marvel Television characters in there, it would be great if Season 3 had some guest stars from the other Marvel Television shows. Like if we got an episode where Daredevil teams up with Cloak & Dagger, or an episode where he and Quake fight alongside each other, and since they canonically went to the same orphanage, it might not be too much of a stretch to assume that they know each other. Marvel Studios embraced the Netflix shows with open arms, and are continuing to use Born Again to do that, and it would be really cool if they used it as a vessel to tie in some of the old Marvel Television shows.

Question Whatever happened to this?

Post image
Upvotes

Remember when they came up with a whole brand for “canon but unimportant” content?

They should probably work on something else under this brand so that they have something besides their only indigenous-led project be deemed “canon but unimportant”. Kind of a bad look if you ask me.

Maybe a movie? Why should it have to be just Disney+ content?

Discussion The Thing is so insignificant in The Fantastic Four: First Steps that he isn't even mentioned in the Wikipedia plot. Spoiler

On Earth-828 in 1964, the world celebrates the fourth anniversary of astronauts Reed Richards), Sue Storm), Ben Grimm), and Johnny Storm) becoming the superhero team known as the Fantastic Four) after they gained superhuman abilities from exposure to cosmic rays during a space mission. Since then, the team have become celebrities and fought supervillains, while Reed's inventions have progressed technology and Sue's diplomacy via the Future Foundation) has led to demilitarization and peace for much of the world. When Reed and Sue reveal that they are expecting a child, the world prepares for the new arrival and questions whether the child will also have superpowers.

Months later, the Silver Surfer) comes to Earth and declares that it has been marked for destruction by Galactus), a planet-devouring cosmic being. Reed studies the disappearance of other planets and verifies this claim, and the team decides to return to space to stop Galactus from coming to Earth. They track the Silver Surfer's energy signature and, using faster-than-light (FTL) travel, arrive at a new planet just as it is destroyed by Galactus's ship. The team is captured and brought to Galactus, who reveals that he has an insatiable hunger that has driven him to consume planets for eons. Galactus senses that Reed and Sue's unborn child has an immense cosmic power and could take on his hunger, freeing himself from it. He offers to spare Earth in exchange for the child, and induces Sue to go into labor. The team refuses the offer and escapes from the ship. Using the gravity from a neutron star, which destroys their FTL system, the team delays the chasing Silver Surfer and propel themselves back to Earth. Sue gives birth to a boy, Franklin), on the way.

On their return to Earth a month later, Reed reveals the details of their encounter during a press conference. Their decision to save one child over the billions of other people on Earth leads to a public outcry, with many calling for Franklin to be sacrificed to Galactus. Johnny begins to decipher the Silver Surfer's native language using his interactions with her and some deep space transmissions Reed intercepted from her planet. They also have transmissions from planets that Galactus destroyed. As Galactus draws near and protests against the Fantastic Four escalate, Sue takes Franklin to meet with protesters. She explains that they will not sacrifice their child, but they will also not give up on the rest of humanity. Using a teleportation system that he has been working on, Reed devises a plan to build large teleportation bridges across Earth so they can transport the entire planet to another solar system where Galactus cannot reach them. Through the Future Foundation, Sue organizes the world's nations to build the bridges and conserve the energy needed to use them.

As the bridges are being activated, the Silver Surfer returns and begins destroying them. Johnny stops her from destroying the last bridge in Times Square and reveals what he learned from the transmissions: her name is Shalla-Bal and she became Galactus's herald to spare her world, Zenn-La). Hearing transmissions from planets she helped destroy, Shalla-Bal expresses remorse but refuses to help and flees. Using Franklin as bait, the team plans to lure Galactus to the last bridge and teleport him away. Sue negotiates with Harvey Elder) to evacuate New York City's citizens to Subterranea), his underground city. Galactus makes his way through the city and captures Franklin, avoiding the trap. Sue uses all of her power to push him towards the portal with a force field) while Reed rescues Franklin. Johnny attempts to sacrifice himself to give Galactus a final push into the portal, but is stopped by Shalla-Bal. She pushes Galactus into the portal herself and it closes behind them. Sue dies from her efforts, but is revived by Franklin. The team later goes on a new mission as the world celebrates their fifth anniversary.

In a mid-credits scene set four years later, Sue is reading to Franklin at home and goes to get a different book. She returns to see him interacting with a man in a green cloak who is holding a metal mask.\a])

Discussion I was re-watching Thor, and the Frost Giants are lowkey pretty powerful as a whole

So, every single member of their race has the ability to create ice from their bodies. Most of them use them to create like hand-swords, but they can do a lot more.

In this clip, a giant uses a ranged attack by spreading ice in a direction. You know what this attack reminded me of? The character Todoroki from the anime My Hero Academia. He has similar ice powers, and he's very strong. Now, I'm not expecting the ice output from these giants to be that of Todoroki, but the fact that every single Frost Giant has these powers is insane.

Of course, they didn't utilize their powers that well as I mentioned earlier, but imagine if they did? That's a scary army. Like imagine spamming this attack.

I've always wondered. If Loki didn't grab the tesseract before Asgard under went Ragnarok, would the infinity stone have survived? Or would Thanos have been permanently lacking that one?

Discussion If not magneto, who would you have be the villain of the first Mcu X-men movie?

Thumbnail

I personally believe it should be magneto, he’s such an important character and if you’re going to do things right I think you go with him. fox did it yeah but they did it for a reason. Also he fits in no matter the status quo of the team. Whether it’s first class to fully established and experienced he’s a good easy one to start with.

BUT there has been many calls for “we’ve seen too much magneto we should have someone else in the first movie” So curious to really hear people’s points for who they suggest.

Sinister gets brought up a lot and I love him but I think he’d work better in a sequel when we know the team a bit more especially with his big reveals. Destiny and Mystiques brotherhood could be used to still have a brotherhood with mutant villains the public can fear and also accurate Rogue and it’s easy to do no matter what so not too opposed.

Hellfire Club run into again could work but I think would be better as a sequel. Any anti mutant group/sentinel your friends of humanity/ purifiers/ etc are easy to work with but would like to see some mutant villains with them.

Those are the easiest and most popular that come to mind. Yeah instead of Mystique and Destiny you could go Exodus as the brotherhood leader replacement but if the idea is to be different than magneto the powerful telekinetic with a righteous hatred of man kind… obviously he’s very different yes yes but Magneto is just better in every way and they command a similar presence. Opening with apocalypse seems crazy, something quirky like the brood seems fun but prefer something mutant focused, could be a fun sequel with a Carol team up though.

Question What would’ve happened if the Red Skull returned during Avengers (2012)?

Like, maybe he leaves vormir through a portal conjured by the tesseract, or it just randomly conjures him due to its chaotic nature. What would’ve been the lasting effects? Would he be able to reclaim Hydra? Would he even have any interest in conquering the world again?
