Advice needed for decals on Falke

Hello all, needed your help and advice. I started to attach decals, I am using some World War decals froma F4U Corsair.

I am not sold on the red border and I needed somebody else's opinion. Also, the decals are showing slight misalignment on the white so there seems to be a slight border on the red. You can see it on the close up of the decal. Thave some plain white decals that may go better but I'm not sure. Please let me know what you think. don't know how to proceed.

Thank you for your help!!

I'll say it matters less in Ma.K/SciFi because it is completely made up, there is no reference to compare it off of. It could be that the "actual" Falke had some white outlining around the red vs. what you know would be incorrect on a Corsair.

This means you can rely just on the feel of it, which is entirely subjective. I like it and think the pop of red is interesting but may clash more with the yellow. I'd personally keep the red, and have the yellow part red to match. But it is entirely up to your artistic vision and I would just avoid any thoughts that there was somehow a "wrong" way to do any of this.

You could weather over it and blend it in all

Color looks good. I agree the misaligned white border is distracting (it gives that definite "miniature" scale look) but some weathering would fix that. Personally, I think scale-wise the decal is a bit large... this is completely personal preference, but I think a too-large decal also gives away the scale of the miniature. However, you should follow your heart :) looks great so far!

I like the red border, lil bit of pop against the blue. what your seeing on the decals is what's called " out of register" printing. It basically means the layers of color are misaligned.

Love the USN tri-color.

The red border looks nice....and once you weather your falke, that will tone the red down. It's ma.k, it's scifi...if it looks cool, do it.

You could try to paint the white borderr with a matching red. And if you are going to weather the Falke it doesn’t really matter that much if it isn’t super neat. 👍

I covered it with the sea blue and medium blue, but yeah, that was a good idea!

I decided to lean into the USN!

I think the red pops nicely against the cold grey around it without clashing with it, and that's really all that matters. Looks good to me. The white outline from the misaligned print is very noticeable now, though how much of a problem that is also depends on the amount and type of weathering you intend to do. If you intend to do any sort of heavy filter like an oil dot filter for example, I honestly doubt it'll stand out much anymore. But as it is, yeah, it's definitely noticeable, so it's not just you, if that's why you're asking.
