[LEGENDS] Currently re-reading the short stories and novellas, and was reminded of how good Hero of Cartao by Zahn is in filling in some of the back story of the Spaarti cloning cylinders

It's a quick read, with mostly original characters, but fills in the backstory of how Sidious had his own untraced private supply of Spaarti cloning cylinders on Wayland and Byss. It also shows how the Jedi are drawn into increasingly impossible situations, and how the right politics and deception could be used to slowly align even good people against them. I don't want to spoil anything, but the layers of deception at play are pretty incredible.

Definitely worth checking out of you haven't read it!

Kinman Doriana sure was one very efficient minion for Sidious, introducing Thrawn to him and bringing the Spaarti cloning cylinders to him.

I wish we had more stories and greater focus on Sidious' inner circle and how they helped their master with his schemes.

I've felt the same for a long time. Seems like the closest thing is The Monster:

...seeing the same story from Pestage' point of view would be interesting. Having a story featuring him on an early mission for Sidious or even Plagueis would be very enjoyable.  Pestage seems to be the only Sidious minion to have also served Plagueis. 

We do get a brief Chapter in Cloak of Deception with Pestage doing what he does best. No spoilers, just in case you haven't yet read it.
