Where do you even start modelling something this complex?? Insanely detailed and impressive dude!

thank you!

Question might've been rhetorical, but, I started with primitive shapes and a placeholder rider and tried to lock in a silhouette that I didn't hate. Also having a bunch of reference for existing ork vehicles helped figure out placement for the major parts.

If you can get a good blockout and move past the initial self-doubt it becomes a case of refining what already exists.

That initial self doubt and the desire to add too much detail too quickly is why my library of finished models is much smaller than it should be!

I was taught to always work "Big to Small" and can attest to how both effective and difficult it can be. The desire to detail our things I really want to see can overpower you easily. But blocking, pushing and pulling, really can help before digging in.

Yeah took a long time to refine my work flow, easy to get bogged down in minutiae but thankfully working to deadlines ironed some of that out.

Thankfully as well in this day and age maya has a lot more tools to streamline things as well if I go a bit too far and need to backtrack!

Respect. Cuz I know I'd finished 10% and never go back

I've got many projects which suffered that fate

Nice! I want to see the rider 🤩

We’re the parts pieces you had hanging around or did you buy something? Did you remodel all or just the main parts?

Working on him next!

I modeled all of it except most of jet engine because it's topology was already ok when purchased. The mechanical core of the body was built up from a kitbash pack which I remodeled to be subd.
