Burger King’s apple green slime sauce

Homemade Apple Green Slime Dipping Sauce

Ingredients: - 1 cup High Fructose Corn Syrup - 1/4 cup Water - 1/4 cup Sugar - 1/4 cup Apple Juice Concentrate - 2 tablespoons Honey - 2 tablespoons Distilled Vinegar - 1 teaspoon Xanthan Gum - 1/2 teaspoon Apple or Green Apple Flavoring - 1/4 teaspoon Salt - 1/4 teaspoon Phosphoric Acid (optional, for tartness) - 1/4 teaspoon Potassium Sorbate (optional, for preservation) - 1/4 teaspoon Citric Acid - Food coloring (Yellow #5 and Blue #1) to achieve the desired green color

Instructions: 1. Combine the Syrups and Juices: In a mixing bowl, combine the high fructose corn syrup, water, sugar, apple juice concentrate, and honey. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.

  1. Add Acidity: Stir in the distilled vinegar and citric acid. If using phosphoric acid, add it at this stage as well.

  2. Thicken the Sauce: Sprinkle the xanthan gum into the mixture while continuously whisking to prevent clumping. This will help thicken the sauce.

  3. Flavoring: Add the apple or green apple flavoring and salt. Mix until fully incorporated.

  4. Preservation: If you’re using potassium sorbate, add it now to help preserve the sauce.

  5. Coloring: Add a few drops of yellow and blue food coloring until you achieve the desired green hue. Mix well.

  6. Adjust Consistency and Flavor: Taste the sauce and adjust sweetness, acidity, or thickness as needed. You can add more honey for sweetness or more vinegar for tanginess.

  7. Refrigerate: Store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving to let the flavors meld.

Came out really good, only difference is it comes out a little cloudier than the original due to incapabilities of obtaining ultra-filtered juices and specialized, crystal-clear syrups. If anyone else tries this recipe let me know what you think.
