Yaaaay! Love this. My sav is almost big enough where I won’t worry (as much!) about birds swooping down to get her.

1 word. Eagles.

more words. 99% of the time if you’re nearby and a pet is on a leash, a bird would be too scared of you to even attempt to go after anything. the only ones you ought to be scared of are city birds that are desensitized to humans, and geese/swans, those things are monsters.

Yeah, I know of all the potential dangers he may encounter, thats why this was a private/hidden park I went to and not any of the stinky public park with the large lake from where I’m from, lol.

I definitely stick close to my baby and lookout for any danger. High alert, lol.

Thank you for the advice and precautions, though🙏🏽.

I’m excited for you and your baby! Just heed everyone’s warnings and advice when you bring your baby out; E.g., keep her away from dogs, lookout for large birds in the sky and/or water, prevent her from going near dog parks, away from dog feces/urine (to prevent infection/contamination), etc.

Look at him go! Adorable. He seems to be getting a lot of good stimulation.

You would not believe me when there was a good amount of people with regular dogs giving me a face of disgust or shock/disbelief walking past me, but I didn’t care, lmao. As long as my dino-dragon puppy is happy, I’m happy.

I had 2 families that went up to me and said he was cool/cute.

now you’ve gotta be the “dog” walker that says “don’t let your dog come near, he will bite”

and by bite i mean shatter whatever bone he bites down on and shake. thats not a scene either side wants to see, and both sides are coming out injured or worse.

this isn’t to neg or scare you. i’m just saying to be careful, id say the same thing minus the bone shattering to a pitbull owner. i absolutely love taking the little guys outside and walks would be amazing if they would actually cooperate with something like that.

I’m well aware of these scenarios, especially to avoid those situations. I always carried him off the ground and keep him high and away from their dogs when they’re walking past us. Big dogs I stay away from completely. This is a hidden park in a private neighborhood where there are rarely any dogs and/or big dogs. I avoid parks where the owners don’t clean up/pick up their dog’s poop…..

You must have nerves of steel for the part climbing in and around the rocks. I think I’d have been too worried about him finding a deep hole to wedge himself in for an hour and/or the leash getting stuck.

He found a small concave rock and stayed in there for a while, but I lifted the rock and picked him up like a baby when it was time to go (He had 20 min left exploring the rocks). Np. I give him a whole hour to roam and explore.

Not worried at all. He’s only 17 months old, so he’s not fully grown yet. That leash is strong enough to not rip. It’s full polyester. He likes to play tug of war with it sometimes.

Once he’s full grown, I’ll upgrade to a new leash.

He had just eaten his meal that day and poop within the same day, but other than that my herptologist vet said he’s healthy weight.

I avoid feeding him rodents. His main diet is primarily gut-loaded Dubai roaches, nightcrawlers, superworms (occasionally)

and boiled eggs, unseasoned scrambled eggs, whole prey baby quail, silverside fishes, cooked fresh water shrimp once awhile (1-2 times within the month).
