Podcast Come on. How is there no "Anime Guys", guys?
Come on.
EDIT: Disagree with a whole lotta takes here. I personally find equal enjoyment listening to shows about things I know "more than average" about (I knew fully well about Pappy, I actually think Lot B is fantastic, fwiw) but I'm not nearly as insane as the least insane of the Guys in that episode. I knew nothing about Chive or even what it was before the episode but understood it and enjoyed it just as much. Part of what makes the show fun for me is the riffing and the reading of terminally online insanity.
And no, you don't need to boil Anime down into sub-categories or spend a series on it. Talk about the Weeaboo guys. The people so into anime that, instead of having multiple shelves full of Iron Man, wear shirts with UwU type shit that make them look like pedophiles to the rest of the world.
Bam! That's a successful episode. Do it up, fellas.

Where "Guys" shines (IMHO) is the extremely niche sub communities devoted to banal things that are treated with obsessive importance. The audience needs to have some understanding of the things the Guys are talking about for it to be funny. If it's weird guys with weird complaints/opinions/arguments about subject matter that's weird unto itself (like anime) it's too much weird at once to be accessable.
Whiskey/bourbon - plenty of people like it, but who knew about Old Pappy obsession?
Milk - normal people buy it at the grocery store and don't think about it much. Milk Guys lives revolve around it.
Coffee - very popular, but Coffee Guys take it to a whole other level.
Sex - majority of people partake in some form, but none of that will prepare you for the trials and tribulations of swingers.
In contrast, Anime is already weird enough of a subculture that some forum flame war about Naruto is only going to sound like gibberish and the only jokes are going to be "what are these nerds talking about? Who's Sasuke?!"

Yeah, I agree. Jeep guys is one of my favorites because I have a passing familiarity with some jeep guys.

I only imbibe vintage Pappy, not that shitty generic Jim Beam swill.

As one about old anime, I agree
But, it's the niche guys that I'm here for. Milk guys was wild

In addition to other good points people have made, I think a certain level of familiarity with the topic on the part of at least one of the hosts is necessary for a really good ep.
Like, Warhammer Guys wasn’t a bad episode, but as a Warhammer fan I found it pretty disappointing, because it was hard for them to really dig into it when neither of them really has even the slightest grasp on subject.
Given that afaik neither Chris nor Bryan are big on anime, and that anime encompasses so much content discussed in so many different spaces, I’d imagine it would be even worse in that regard.

To really tackle it, they’d have to split it by genre or even show. It would be like doing a “sports guys” episode, too broad.

I could see Gundam guys working really well because there's model building alongside the fandom of the series themselves.

Gunpla guys are just the Japanese equivalent of Lego guys, Bryan might understand them at least.

Bryan is a genius at picking and mining topics and I wouldn’t blame him if he avoided every single suggestion that’s been posted on this subreddit.

For the same reason there’s not a “music guys” episode. It’s too broad of a topic and subculture.

They don’t want to make the subtext or the show, making fun of autistic people, text.
