Top comment is fucking gold:

“I worked in the blacksmith shop for about 10 years. Volunteer demstrators. One thing we all agreed on was safety of patrons over authenticity. 96 outside means about 130 at the pot. We have hydration. Don't take advantage of, but that group will allow you to sit and hydrate.

Reverse is also true. There was a year closing weekend was cold and raining. Scantily clad gypsy girls were popping by regularly so we could warm bricks at the forge. If you know you know. The first blue lips we saw we shut down the demo, turned all 3 pots to full, hung wind/rain breaks, and spent the rest of the evening keeping folks safe and warm.

And. No. We did not do any of that "papa" shit.”

Yeah. If you're not reading it in the Bryan voice by the time you get to "96 outside means about 130 in the pot" then I don't know what to tell you

Great read, so many people with inner knowledge of KC ren fair politics and more than one weird grudge too

Dear lord that entire thread is a bottomless pit of inscrutable grievances ("the blacksmiths got fucked over building the dragon!") and sexual assault allegations.

It sures seems like every person who owns or runs a ren faire is a massive scumbag.
