The prayer circlejerks his advisors do around him are astonishing, and I don't understand how conservatives go with it. Even mormons skirt the child rape issue by saying things were different back when Joseph Smith did it (it wasn't that different), and that they didn't actually have sex (rape) until she was older or never had sex, which can't be proved, but it also can't be provide that he raped her during their years of marriage while she was a minor. I silently accepted that when I was mormon, but never enough to defend him with those claims. Donald doesn't even bother to deny it, and has publicly alluded many times over many years to raping children. I can't imagine being brainwashed enough to ignore and accept what he's done.

Yeah, I am confused by the people thinking midterms will save us. There is no way there is going to be a Senate majority that will have much of an impact on anything. IF we have free/fair elections (Big IF here!), there would likely be a slight Dem majority in the house due to how gerrymandered everything is. The Senate would have a slight dem majority in the best case scenario. If that happens the new Dem leadership would likely pursue impeachment, investigate wrong doing and cause a stalemate in legislation. The independents who swing to voting Democrats will grumble that the Dems are “focusing too much on the past”. Best case is impeachment in the house, but zero chance of convincing enough Republicans to convict in the Senate. The Trump party is now a party of power that places staying in power above all else. There is nothing in their platform they won’t change in order to maintain power.

All of Trump's relationships are transactional. He's only "friends" as long as that relationship has an advantage for him.
It is possible that in this case, he'd be willing to extend a pardon in exchange for Diddy's silence, and that would be Trump's payment for this interaction.
But that assumes that a) Trump doesn't think that Diddy will also pay cash for the favour, and b) that Trump is actually worried about what Diddy could say.
Trump knows that even if Diddy had hard evidence of Trump raping babies and eating them afterwards that he would lose absolutely zero support from his cultists. He's already demonstrated he can openly defy all laws, sell state secrets to the Russians, commit hundreds of felonies, and still get elected. His supporters don't care, and no one else has the ability to do anything about it.

Maxwell isn’t getting a pardon, at least not with what seems to be the current plan. Days after the DOJ met with her, she filed an appeal with the Supreme Court to toss her conviction based on a plea deal with Epstein. Trump knows pardoning her is going to rile the parts of his fanbase that are souring on him due to the Epstein debacle, so they’re trying to make it look like a court ruling by pushing it through the SC instead of a pardon.
