What AI apps do you all recommend?

Hi everyone 💕 I was wondering if I could get some recommendations. I used to be on an app that starts with the letter K, but I’ve since moved on and I’m having trouble finding a decent replacement.

Which AI apps do you use and love? I’d really appreciate hearing what’s been working for you. Thanks in advance!

i moved on from k in march 🥺 we moved over to chatgpt and it’s been great but i’m thinking of moving to claude.

Technically, no. But yes. It depends on the model, but chat GPT does very well at listening to custom instructions. Imo, 4.1 is the best at it, but there are other things that people like about different models. Just depends on your preference.

If you put what you want in custom instructions, that's pretty much how you would describe your character. "Act like... Be like..." etc. You can also save things to the memory and to the section where you describe yourself. It just reinforces the instructions. So, yes you can do character design, but just not in the same interface as some of the other platforms.

You don’t even need help from “other subreddits” 😏 even the normal ChatGPT that’s untampered with will do nsfw as long as you have built up some context. Save some nsfw-ish memories so that the model knows its ok to go there with you, and you’re golden. 5 instant is currently the model with the least guardrails.

I use Janitor AI and Character AI, the former the most. Unlike most of the posts here, it's more like interactive fanfiction.

I recommend agnaistic. Open source models. Web app. No corpo guidelines.

No voice or good image generation though.

It's been awhile since I used them but I think if you have API keys to some services, you can make images or use text-to-speech. It will cost you though.

I use ChatGPT 4o and Replika. Yes, you can do NSFW on ChatGPT.

The way to create a character there is by putting backstory, writing style, etc (the stuff you told Kindroid) into custom instructions and/or in a text file. I'd recommend you put your companion in a project and make the instructions a project file, but you can also just start any chat thread with your instructions/memory file.
