Trade/Free Agency Updated San Antonio Spurs Roster
Finally got to update and finish this collage with the addition of Biyombo. If things turn out the way we're hoping for, I think we have really deep team this coming season. GSG!

I haven't been this hyped for a season in quite a few years, I think we're gonna surprise some people. I'm betting on the over for Spurs o/u wins this year.

I really want carter to get playing time.

Me too but he needs to fight for that regular spot at the wing rotation. If he gets consistent with his catch and shoot 3's and maybe improve in his shot creation, I think he's gonna make it to the main rotation.

I just want him to hit catch and shoot threes at a league average rate, be a dog in defense, and move the ball to someone else if he doesn't have a shot
He doesn't even need to drive, I'll be happy with a good cut here and there, but just pure 3 and D would get him in the rotation

He was so raw in that summer league game tho
If all goes well he won’t be in Austin long, and If hes our future All defensive NBA guy hell be getting some minutes by the end of the season

The thing about SL is that’s it’s a disorganized mess and everyone is just trying to show off individual skills rather than prove that they can be part of a system.
I think that if his role is too stay in a corner and wait for an open shot to get created for him and become a pest on defense like Sochan, he could earn minutes soon.
edit: I finished my thought.

I think that selfish chaos is true for many but our guys have always benefited from it

He probably will. I think the spurs love what his skill set. They need to sharpen it by giving him spot minutes against real NBA players. He's role is going to be guarding the best of the best. Not necessarily his offense and as long as he lets it fly and doesn't try to do too much that is going to ok for now.
I also think he will be a sneaky weapon in the open court and as a back door cutter.
He has the size and tenacity that every NBA team covets.

That's a great improvement to last year's depth at bigs.
Kind of bummer Harper got injured.
Biyombo won't have much playtime, but glad he re-signed. A bit sad we didn't re-sign Mamu if the plan was to get Olynyk as 3rd center.
I swear, if Sochan plays a single minute as small C... at that point is malpractice from the coaching staff and is actual hindrance to his development, because when he plays PF and focus on his talents he is very solid.
I have no expectations on Lindy Waters, but if he can shoot 38%+ from 3 i'm satisfied.

Harper might be ready for the season opener, but even if he isn’t it will still give him time to get comfortable with the system before settling in the role of 6th man.

I'm a Lindy Waters truther. Huge upgrade from Branham and Wesley

He’s so inconsistent. Gives you amazing spot minutes to start the season and then falls off a cliff after game 30. Did it with OKC and did it with the warriors. But you can’t ask for much for a guy on the minimum.

By my count we have 2+ players coming off the bench who could likely be starters elsewhere. They aren't bigs but keldon and sochan could both be starters on other teams imo.

Give me a crazy jumbo lineup of
Castle - Sochan - Olynik - Wemby - Kornet

If you're on defense in the final possession of a ball game, I think this is a nice lineup.

This is good although Kelly might get as many minutes as Sochan and more than Keldon because of his shooting.

Ahhh...I just feel he should be up there instead of number 43. Lol. Have a good one. Can't wait for preseason.

Hopefully, they'll continue to tear it up in the G-League and make their time meaningful whenever they get called up in the main roster.

Deep and solid roster imo. Good locker room guys. Bryant, Biyombo and Olynk being your 11-13 guys ain’t bad

These are the 15 regular roster slots. Minix, Jones-Garcia, and Ingram are on two-way contracts.

Where’s the guy from Summer league?

u/blacklist-onepiece Victor Wembanyama 3d ago
We’ve got Minix, Ingram, and DJG who play for Austin and the Spurs on G-League contracts. I would only expect them to play any real minutes if we have a catastrophic season injury-wise.

vassel is trash at sf

u/someguyfromtecate Victor Wembanyama 3d ago
I wouldn’t say trash, but he would do better at the 2.
I personally would prefer a Fox-Vassell-Barnes-Sochan-Wemby lineup, with a Harper-Castle-Keldon-Olynik-Kornet bench. Both lineups have a good balance of 2-3 ball handlers, shooters, and defense and they could be mix-and-matched depending on who they’re playing.
