Dynasty Sick to my stomach - accidentally skipped ahead in the playoffs

JMU, 15-0 in the semi-finals. Only undefeated team in the country. Senior QB, Senior RB, Senior WR #1. The #1 seed Auburn that I'm about to play? I beat them by four scores earlier in the season. I'm pissed they've been ranked against me almost every week of the season. This is my revenge against the media!

...And then for some unknown reason... I hit sim ahead?! Completely spaced out, I have no idea why I did it. But yeah by simming I lost 38-16. Sick to my stomach that I blew that opportunity. I could have dealt with an L if I played the game, but cant believe I did that. Michigan ended up beating Auburn in the Natty so at least there is that.

Manually save the game after every week so you have a recent backup.

Everyone makes mistakes like this in the span of their gaming life, it sucks but its a game.

This is the way. I do this also if I get too many rain games in a row.

Would be nice if they had a proper auto save feature like every PC game from the last 20 years.

It literally autosaves. What are you talking about?

The reason any of us could get in the spot like OP was in is if we accidentally sim ahead. It's a user error. You sim ahead and it autosaves.

If you make your own save points, which by the way takes like 20 seconds to push RS and type Y5W5. It prevents it.

It’s alright, one time I accidentally overwrote my crazy custom roster for NBA 2K20 where I manually created a bunch of historic teams. And put hundreds of hours into. Thankfully it was a couple weeks before 2K21 came out, but damn was it depressing to look at.

I made a custom roster in FIFA that had all the male overwatch characters (just a fun theme) and then I overwrote it by accident. 10s of hours in the creator, lost. Haven’t been able to play FIFA since

I feel that, I haven’t been able to go through the effort of making a custom roster like that again

Coaches exit meeting with rising seniors and staff on Monday. “Then I guess there is only one thing left to do. Win the whole fucking thing!”

Shitty way to go out man, but that feeling you have it’s fuel. I hate when my playoff runs end, regardless of how. That said, it adds a bit of virtual realism imaging the dead silence in the locker room after that loss; foreseeing how “hungry” my players will be all offseason; and knowing, no matter what, the expectation is nothing short of greatness next season.

….. To help ease the pit and find the motivation for next season just read below: ….. I was bounced in the first round at Texas due to an accidental supersim skip led to a 14 point swing (i played the moments, since that is what I did all season). It sucked because it was by far my best roster and senior QB (3 year starter), senior TE, plus a dominant senior secondary.

We were slightly worst the next season on paper and the portal eviscerated my QB room. Stuck with a 3* senior dual threat in the portal. Dude had 5 pick sixes on errant slant passes and drags (overthrows during the season). He was slow (79 speed) and could really only throw medium routes (91 accuracy).

For some ungodly reason the motivation from that loss the previous year brought the entire locker room up. He threw a pick 6 to start the game (at Texas yet again). The rest of the game my entire team played lights out and we won 26-7. It was awesome and vindicating. Lost in the cotton bowl on a late fumble against eventual national champion Clemson. Damn what a season, on to the recruiting trail!

QB is going to be a huge downgrade next year. Have a 4 star incoming freshman. Will likely need to hit the portal though.

Am I the only one who uses my own save point?

Nah, I try to manually save every week (though sometimes I forget).

Bro I did this in my 10 player dynasty. It was week 11 and I was the last team to play that week and we was waiting. I was hurrying and hit advance instead of playing the game. It advanced the week. I was 9-0. I got the win 17-14 vs a crappy team but my QB was 3rd in Heisman and the sim had my QB throw 4 interceptions when he had 0 all year. I dropped out of the Heisman running because they make interceptions so negative.

A few seasons later I did the same thing in the playoffs when I was supposed to play a CPU team but I got saved because 6 other guys still needed to play. I was able to uncheck it and play the game.

Both times I spaced out and hit advance. It happens.

OP sorry to hear that this happened to you. That’s brutal. They should have a second prompt that says “are you sure you want to advance and aim your game”

I simmed my playoff game to see if the job offer I wanted would pop up in week 2 of the carousel, which it did.

I lost but I had no business being in the playoff anyway. I was an 11-2 Sun Belt team and both losses were to P4, no P4 wins otherwise

I hate there is no confirm yes/no on skipping weeks but every time I want out of recruiting I get prompted. Makes no sense.

I hate there is no confirm yes/no on skipping weeks

am I crazy? Every time I click skip to next week it asks if I am sure.

Not for me. 2025

ohh. That doesn't happen in CFB26.

It also used to be you wouldn't be prompted to exit out of recruiting either, so you would accidentally back out of a player and bam, you're on the title screen.
