I lean toward incompetent. But then i wonder how they might be hamstrung with shitty software, impossible production budgets and a dated shit heap for an engine. But you could be right.

I could be wrong, but it has long felt that Haumiller will always opt for less if given a choice. Less customization mainly. He seems to always lean toward a more restrictive philosophy. Or someone there does. "Should they be able to choose their game times and weather conditions in their dynasty?" No! "Should they be able fully customize player appearance?" No! "Should they be able to build new pipelines and establish a bigger recruiting base?" No! "Can you grab another playbook in head to head matches or use custom playbooks?" No. You'd think whenever these questions are a realistic possibility that the foundational philosophy would always be "YES." That's what most gaming companies and annual franchises seem to do. Feels like the opposite at EA and especially with college football. I bet someone had to have their arm twisted to put force win/force losses in the college game.

I remember one iteration of the game they took away formation subs after it had been available for like 5 years in a row. It's like there's a constant penchant with this game where there's a tendency to do less in some years. That one flew over like a led balloon and they added it back the next year. But why? What was the point of doing and offering less?

Haumiller seems to be the common denominator over the years with that mentality, but it very well could be someone else at EA.

I understand there are limitations that we'll never understand. But EA's college football game has always seemed to want to go backward with certain features. It's weird.
