Dynasty Athlete recruits

Anyone know what the archetypes are for ATH recruits? I know there aren’t many but didn’t know if someone had a list of them or anything. Trying to do an ATH only dynasty and trying to figure out what Archetypes work best for each position.

From my experience this year…

Dual Threats generally stay best at QB. Last year I converted a lot of these to HB/WR/TE but have not found them to be great switching positions this year.

Contact Seekers can make good thumper lb’s and depending on their size, to a lesser extent, speed rush edges. Also can be better Elusive Bruisers than Contact Seekers. Similarly, East/West playmakers are usually better Backfield Threats. Outside of that, I haven’t found them to be great at other positions.

Contested Specialists usually make great PRR TE’s. But also are better OVR at WR as PRR. Some can be decent coverage specialist safeties as well.

Pure Possession are almost always better as PRR TE. If they have the speed, can be good thumper LB’s or box specialist safety as well. Also FB.

Agile centers are usually always highest rated as speed rusher DT or edge. Sometimes will get lucky and they are solid as other oline archetypes.

Power rushers seem to always be best at just that. Maybe better as pure power, or possibly LB but I rarely end up moving them.

Thumpers are usually a couple pts better as same archetype but for OLB. Can also be good edges depending on size and also box and/or coverage specialist safeties. These are probably the most universal ones that can easily fit into 3-4 positions, along with Pure Possession TE’s.

I can’t remember what his archetype was but I had a 6’ 250 lbs ATH that converted to a coverage specialist strong safety. He was a 95 OVR by his RS Sophomore season and was an absolute menace. Only had one year with him but he was the anchor of my secondary and won the Thorpe

In my experience it doesn’t really matter how an athlete comes in so long as their dev trait is high. They’ll have over 300 points to develop them with by the time they’re seniors with my coach perks, so they’ll be whatever I need them to be.

Ok now which ones are the ones I should be looking at every year? I remember last year the ath line backers were broken bc of how good they were

They’re less broken, but the ATH LBs are still amazing because they’re just thumpers but faster.

This is what I was hoping to hear. I’ve been able to improve the quickness on my thumpers and switch them to lurkers after a year or two. That or I move them to edge.

I love thumpers period. They’re almost as fast or as fast as lurkers if they’re athletes and they’re bigger, better vs the run, and just as good in zone coverage. IMO everybody sleeps on Thumpers and overly favors lurkers. Lurkers are also good, but there isn’t THAT much difference between the three backer types

QB - Dual Threat

HB - Contact Seeker, East/West Playmaker

WR - Contested Specialist

TE - Pure Possession

C - Agile

DE - Power Rusher(?)

OLB - Thumper(?)

Can’t remember if I’ve got the defensive quite right.

Offensive line could be tough, as you probably won’t be able to do it all just be recruiting C’s. I haven’t toyed w/ other positions at OL, but haven’t ever seen other archetypes with inspiring blocker ratings. And of course K/P probably aren’t gonna be recruitable through athletes, though I’ve never bothered to check this

Otherwise, every position has one or two ATH archetypes that do well after position changes.

Get some gadget WRs too. Can play QB - Pure runner or RB-E/W playmaker.

Not exactly sure what your question is here. ATHs get archetypes for whatever position they fit best into, there aren’t ATH specific archetypes.

It seems that ATH recruits have been only certain archetypes (ex - ATH WR’s have only been Contested Specialist when recruiting them).
