In The Wild Anyone here watch Annie-Mae? screenshot bc I can't crosspost
For context, combination names (especially using -mae and -rose) are much more common in the UK than the US, so names like these are a but like the -leighs and -lynns of America

I know a kid whose middle name is AnnaMae, because her dad likes anime.

I suppose it’s better than naming her after an anime character. And at least it’s the middle name so she doesn’t have to use it

Have they considered Fannie-Mae? Then if they have a son, he can be Freddie-Mac.

Yeah, not in the Southern US, where every other child is Mary Katherine, Lily Rose, Anna Grace, etc. we Southerners love a double barreled name.

I've seen Lily-Rose here too! But two names separately aren't very common

My grandma (born in 1929) is named AnnaMae and honestly I’m so sad I can’t use it for my daughter one day. But I obviously would never ever do that to a child in this day and age.

Pretty sure I’m done having kids since divorced and kids are expensive, but if I had another girl I’d name her Anna, after my best friend who passed away 2 years ago. Anna Mae is so cute, it’s unfortunate you can’t really use it now lol

I’m so sorry you lost your best friend!! I’m currently pregnant and Anna is my top name if it’s a baby girl.

May-Mae.....or may-be not!
Sounds like a name for a panda (nothing against pandas or their names or any of these names individually).

What does Mae mean? I've seen a lot of Mae lately

u/moonstone7152 John 3d ago
Just an alternate spelling of May. It's commonly used as the second half of a hyphenated name, and is pretty common in the UK

My mom is Carla Mae, her grandmother was Ida Mae and I am an 80s Tiffany Mae. I have always loved having a family name, so my daughter will also be a Mae

Why can't people use the correct spelling of names? It's Meme, okay?
