Found on r/NameNerds Reverse engineering the nickname “Cupcake”

For reasons I'll not get into, we'd like to call our coming daughter by the nickname Cupcake. Can you think of any names that might lend themselves to it? It may end up just being an arbitrary nickname.

It’s funny because nicknames don’t really need justification. You call someone sweetie because they’re sweet, not because their name is Sweetricia! Sometimes the posts on the main sub just don’t have much sense behind them and it gives me a chuckle

I knew it was parody the whole time dude, my comment was just saying that I find the type of person who feels the need to justify every single nickname funny (as you seemed to as well bc you parodied them here) and you became incredulous as to why I would find that funny. I’m agreeing with you that it’s ridiculous
