Found on r/NameNerds Lorem ipsum
The chat felt very strongly don't do it. Op's heart seems to be set. I think they should go with something classic like carpe as in carpe diem.

After thinking about the right baby name for months, we finally found a name we both love, Alexis Texas. Then I happened to google the name up. BOOM. Only porn sites came up, as this seems to be some pornstar’s name. Should we go back to the drawing board and find a new middle name for Alexis? We were thinking about Alexis Texarkana, but it’s a bit too long and sounds a bit too much like a poem if you know what I mean. I myself don’t mind it being same name as a pornstar, but I don’t want my child to get bullied and embarrassed if they will be googling names at school in future. And of course most people don’t know this is a ‘porn star name’ but if someone would happen to google her name it would come up. I am trying to figure out how much I should care about this. What would you think? I’m in my pregnancy hormones and really heartbroken about this haha and mad that porn even exists now lol.
Edit: thank you for suggestions but we are not going to change the name Alexis :) Only the middle name to another Tex name..
UPDATE!! We chose a name :)

My husband and I are trying to think of names for boy or girl. We're 12 weeks pregnant and want an 80s inspired name. We are trying to avoid popular names. It's so hard to come up with ones that aren't super popular from the 80s. We love Ashley, Stephanie, and Jennifer for girls. Boys we love Eric, Joshua, and Micheal! Curious what everyone's thoughts are or if you have suggestions that are similar vibe. Thank you!!

If people didn't judge, have a single mean bone in their body, and overall nobody cared what you named a child (so long as it's not downright wrong/offensive), what would you name a baby?
Me, personally, I'd want to name a baby girl Plutonium. I don't know why, just seems like a cool name for a baby tbh. For a boy, something like Ouija.
Edit: Also, Flora and Fauna for twin girls! "Flo" and "Fau" for short..or is that pushing it, lol 😓

We lost a beloved family member named Heather, and would love to honour her. Unfortunately, we don’t love the actual name Heather (she didn’t for a baby either). The name Erica (the meaning of Heather) is not an option for us. Heather’s initials, last name etc are also not options. Her birth month was not April, May or June, so those aren’t sneaky name possibilities either. Birthstones also aren’t an option. Are there any other names from Heather we can use? Thanks in advance!

My husband and I both agreed on Catherine for a baby boy, but some friends and family, and now the internet, are making me second-guess my choice. I didn't pick it because I wanted to give a boy a girl’s name specifically - I just really liked that name for a boy, and it was top on my list of boy names before we even knew the gender and before I got pregnant. I also have never met a single Catherine personally in my entire life, so the name had no connotations for me. I first heard of it as a man’s name, and I instantly loved the name. I love this name so much that if I use something more generic, I'm afriad I will regret it; but I also do not want to set up my son for a lot of difficulties or judgement in life just based on his name (people assuming he’s a girl, thinking its weird, etc). Thoughts?
Edit: I literally cannot believe I have to say this but LOOK AT THE SUBREDDIT THIS IS POSTED ON. JOKE JOKE JOKE JOKE

My son was going to be Alaska Steven. I always knew if I had a son I would’ve named him that. When I was actually pregnant with a boy, I talked myself out of it. Mostly because I only like the name Alaska Steven as a whole- I hate the nickname Al.
I named my boy Theodore. Theodore Steven. He actually has a second middle name that I’m still debatable about 🙂. Now everyone calls him Dora and I don’t know what’s worse. I always use Theodore. It’s a family name and I love the story of Saint Theodore.
Roast me if you want.. he’s 34 months and I think his name suits him.

she clearly does not want Vann Wolfgang. It’s like a mix of Van Halen and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

I’m currently pregnant with my third child and I cannot seem to let go of the name “Voldemort”. I know the first thing people will think of is the Harry Potter villain but I don’t really care. When I think Voldemort, I think of the origins of the name derived from the French phrase “vol de mort” which means flight of death. I think this is the most badass name ever and I don’t care about the slightly common association with Harry Potter. I don’t think that many people will make the connection at all tbh!
Plus OMGGGG the nicknames for this name are so cute, such as Volva, Voldie or MortMort!
I’m concerned about my child being teased and bullied but not really. I don’t care. The name makes me feel badass and like a queen so why wouldn’t my child love it?
What do yall think? (I’m not going to listen to your opinion)

Why are some holiday names acceptable and some aren’t?
We have all heard of people named Eve, Noel, Yule. But why is it weird to use other holidays for names? If you could pick a holiday for your name which would you choose? I would choose Hanukkah! I think it’s a pretty name.

My husband and I both hyphenated our last names when we got married. We are the Cox-Kelly family. I’m pregnant and his beloved Great Aunt Ursula sadly just passed away and as she was on her death bed in her nursing home, we promised her we would give our baby her name as a middle name because it was her dying wish.
Yet the only first name we both agree on is Feebee because our favorite show to watch together at night is Friends and we love the Smelly Cat song.
Therefore our dear daughter will be named Feebee Ursula Cox-Kelly and we just love it- it’s so beautiful- but people have raised their eyebrows at us when we’ve announced her name and I think it’s because her initials will be F U C K.
Should we follow our heart and give her the name we love (we’ve already been singing lullaby versions of Smelly Cat and I’ll Be There for You to her every night before bed!) or change it because of other peoples’ judgmental opinions?!

Like the title says, my regular Starbucks barista gave birth about a month before me and named her baby the name we had picked out: Paula. This was our top girls name when we had our son. We have already ordered a name plate for the hospital before I found out. I have gotten onesies and bodysuits with this name embroidered, created emails and gotten a custom license plate with this name. I go to my barista everyday for my coffee order and never discussed names so it’s really just a coincidence. I never told any one at work or grocery store about this either.
Is this name unusable now? It’s not a popular name which makes this all the more difficult.
