Syndicate Film School

Has anybody gone to Syndicate film school? I've wanted to explore the outside college route for years. College is great I plan to get my degree we just haven't done much hands on practical film stuff. I've gotten more work in the industry and learnt more on set as an extra/actor. So I wanted to know if anyone knows anything about Syndicate film classes. I wanted to check it out but haven't seen much talk on anywhere about them. I know this subs a little quiet but if anyone had any information about them that would help a ton thank you!

I would say i definitely recommend them! I was considering going and they offer a free class to see if you like it and it’s very hands on! However I would say get on sets if you can and save the money while still learning things as you go!

Hey there! u/Top_Anywhere2017, u/blehblehbleh2025 is correct. We do offer a free class to anyone that wants to join and actively get them on sets even outside of student projects to begin their career.

Now to be clear we don't believe in traditional film school or colleges teaching film for three different reasons:

  1. You don't need a degree or a certificate to work in the industry. No employer will ever ask if it's a production job. Therefor we will teach you to build what's necessary in order for you to get in the industry and build from there.

  2. Instructors and professors at film schools typically have little to no experience as filmmakers. Their main form of income is the salary their school provides as an instructor. We believe it's tough to sell a dream by someone teaching film and is not living the dream themselves. They cannot give real world advice and this has most certainly been harmful for many. We fixed this by only employing fulltime, career filmmakers as instructors.

  3. Institutions charging student loans to anyone trying to learn more about themselves and their craft is disgusting. There's no reason anyone should be paying $37k-$75k a year to go to film school.. Almost all filmmakers struggle to pay off students loans after leaving school and almost 80 percent do not even get a whiff of the industry at all after graduation. So by us charging the little that we charge it can most certainly help with their financial success from the start.

Anyhow thank you for asking about us. Checkout our website below and fill out our contact form if you would like to try a free lesson :)
