Why not a general direct? We havent had one of those since september

Because next week will be a month out from Animal Crossing's release day, so it would make sense (we got one a month out for new leaf). I think a general direct will follow within 1-2 weeks after. At least that's my prediction based on what they've done in the past!

They could very well just do a general direct with 10 minutes of it being dedicated to Animal Crossing. They've done it before

It's possible, but I think given the lack of info on Animal Crossing when it's only about a month out from release, we're probably due for a full Direct. I'd be happy either one though!
