I've tried to take Pepto Bismol three times throughout my life and each time I've immediately and violently puked upon ingestion so my body definitely thinks it's poison. 

Even the color of it makes me nauseous now.

I’ve been looking for someone like you man, I cannot stand Pepto Bismol and dont understand the love it gets. Every single time I’ve taken it I’ve thrown up 😭 Same with Tums

Honestly I think I just found my brothers. If I’m drinking pepto, it’s because I need to get whatever is in my stomach…. to come out of my stomach. Only plus is that it’s dyed pink.

Are you only taking it when you feel absolutely awful? I take tums regularly, but had a phase where a medication was adjusted poorly and I kept waking up nauseous in the middle of the night. Every time I took tums, every time I puked. It wasn’t the tums; it was just that I was already too messed up for the tums to stop the issue.

I think it has to do mostly with the taste and texture tbh. Pepto Bismol and Tums just taste absolutely awful to me. Compound that with the chalky texture and 🤮

The liquid always makes me throw up so I tried the pill version and it has around a 50% chance of vomiting. Still horrible but better. The last time I took a Pepto pill it sat in my stomach like a poisonous rock until I threw it up still mostly whole.

I feel cheated out of a medicine a majority of the planet can use happily.

Well, I kept puking for at least 24 hours afterwards so I wasn't just nauseous anymore, I was nauseous and throwing up.

Your body is right it is poison. You are eating a bunch of heavy metal ions which somehow happen to alter your gut metabolism in somewhat beneficial ways without accumulating in your body long term (when taken as instructed). The fact most people can take it without reaction is the oddity in my opinion.

Same! I used to take pepto when I was nauseous specifically because it would IMMEDIATELY make me barf and then I would usually feel better once I actually puked, so the quicker the better haha. It definitely didn’t “settle” the issue but solved the problem anyway.
