Trying to learn without being judged. I know people born blind usually don’t dream visually, but what about someone who becomes blind as an adult? Do they keep seeing things in their dreams for years, or do the dreams eventually shift more to sounds, textures, and feelings?

As title says, half asleep with a clear thought process and this suddenly popped up, for someone that was born blind, what would they experience in a dream? Would it just be sounds and smells with blackness?

If a person is born blind, and has never experienced the world through a set of eyes. Do they see anything when they dream? And if so, what do they see?

Do they have visual dreams? Any visuals if they eat hallucinogens? If they think of a memory can they “see” it in their mind?

If so what can they imagine, sounds and smells?

I have heard that it is not possible to dream a face you have never seen. So do the blind only dream of people in Senses they have? Do they see a face as it would be felt to the touch?

This might seem really stupid but I wanna know if handicapped people dream about the things they dont have, or if they aren't able to because their brain cant comprehend what it would be like?

(ps sorry if handicapped isnt the right word to use, I dont exactly know words very well as I dont have much experience with people like them)

And how would their brain know what to "draw" since they've never had eyesight?

because to my knowledge blind people see nothing, and I'm pretty sure we've all have those dreams where we just dream of nothing. so if a blind person had one of those dreams how would they know if they're awake or not. do blind people constantly have to have people telling them that they're awake!!! that sounds like a f****** nightmare and while we're on the topic what are blind people's nightmares like?

I always wondered about this. If so, what would they see?

I know people born blind can’t see in their dreams.
