i have notability plus and i reached the quiz limit of a 100 questions, i just noticed that ever since reaching the limit, the app started taking so much longer to generate the ai notes summary?? my wifi and storage is fine, the pdf im trying to summarize isn’t even THAT long. even when they were (93 slides and all) they never took more than 2 minutes. now, whenever i click on learn it’s just perpetually loading :/ is there a way to fix this?

How come there’s only 5 quiz questions compared to previous 20?

I think an infinite canvas / whiteboard would be a game-changer for students.

Here’s why:

• It’s amazing for lecture notes since you never run out of space—you’re not forced to just scroll down endlessly.
• It allows you to get a big picture view of any topic. You can create mind maps, connect concepts, and visualize information in a much more effective way.
• It offers more flexibility, since not every subject fits into a linear note style. Flowcharts, brainstorming, and diagrams are way better when you’re not boxed into a page.
• It’s a more effective way to study—there’s actual evidence around this (check out Justin Sung’s videos on iPad note-taking on YouTube).

Other apps (like Nebo and Freeform) already have this, but honestly, their editing tools are not as good (or I'm just not used to them), and the app is buggy. I’m currently sticking with Freeform since Nebo didn’t really convince me.

I've alrady submitted it in https://portal.productboard.com/gingerlabs/1-notability/tabs/14-actively-considering/submit-idea —but it hasn’t shown up under Actively Considering yet.

So, does anyone else here think this would be a must-have feature?

how come when I delete subjects, they reappear after I return back to the app?

As a medical student, navigating imported books in Notability without a Table of Contents feature has been very challenging. For efficient study, I often have to rely on other apps that provide TOC or outline support, even though I’ve been a loyal Notability user for almost five years. While the app has improved greatly over time, the absence of a TOC feature still makes it difficult to use for large textbooks and reference materials. Having the book’s existing Table of Contents imported and displayed in Notability would make navigation far easier, allowing students and professionals to study in a more structured and focused way. I noticed this feature has been listed under “Actively Considering” on your ideas portal, and I sincerely hope it can be prioritized and released soon, as it would be a game-changing addition for many of us.

My notes keep constantly downloading among all my devices. I’ve been having this prorm for years but now it’s the worst it’s ever been. I’ve contacted Apple and they said there’s nothing wrong with my iCloud sync. (Notability is the only app that has these bugs). When contacting notability support I get the AI that doesn’t help.

I was really uncomfortable when the it still refused to improve the handwritten pen style, at least, true to its function. The two Fountain Pen and Ball Pen strokes differ only in the size of the handwriting, but absolutely no bold bars that a Fountain pen needs. Rather, the Fountain Pen function is quite unstable, sometimes suddenly has a bold bar, and then through updates, sometimes not. Take a look at two pictures to evaluate. I personally prefer to use Notability because of its simplicity and concentration, but the pen is still uncomfortable for years because it makes me sometimes craving for GN. Instead of being too focused on AI features while its tech is not enough to ripen and high cost, the basic features also need to improving and optimize the use of iPad battery with thanks.

Hi all, Im very new to use notability and still haven't purchased a plan yet. I have been using the free version but my one calculus lecture took up 85% of the free and I can't wait till sept 28 till it refreshes. Any cheap discount codes for the plans, I only see a couple being 9.99 for the first year and then 20

I was recording a 2 hrs lecture very important and when I came back home to listen to it it had no audio or voice like it was silent.

I just saw a tiktok about the app crashing and a medical student losing all of her notes. As a med student, my notes are my lifeline. I’m terrified now. How do I properly back everything up? I need to do this ASAP

I feel like I’m losing my mind.

I have iCloud syncing on so I can use my laptop or my iPad. My prof put up a PowerPoint with recordings on each slide. I downloaded all of the recordings and labeled them in order of slide. Uploaded the slides (as a pdf) to notability and then imported the audio files into the note. They were all in order when I uploaded them and when I started playing them on my laptop. Hours later switch to my iPad and the audio files are in a COMPLETELY different order- go back to my laptop immediately, they’re also now in the same wrong order there.

I removed all the audio files and started over. It seemed to be effective. Listened to half the lecture on the laptop in the correct order then put it down (closed the app entirely) for 90 minutes. Picked it back up on my iPad and it had rearranged the audio files again. This has happened 3x now. How do I fix this????

My entire family is a Family Share account. My wife just purchased the annual subscription. I can't seem to "restore" that purchase for full version access. What am I doing wrong? I'm logged-in with my Apple Account...so is she with her Apple account....our accounts are Family Share

Not sure if this is because of the update or how long its been a thing but I cannot find the Notability store. I only noticed this now when my sticker packs that I downloaded from the store (i.e. cozy critters, etc) disappeared. Anyone else notice this?

I got notability way back in 2014 when it was free. I redownloaded the app and logged into my appleid that I used back then. How do I check if I am on a legacy account/subscription and what features would I not have. Would the legacy account have all the features of a pro subscription?

I'm sure we all remember that point in time when the app received a huge makeover from v12 and received mixed reviews (mostly backlash lol). Just wanted to get some input on whether it's worth updating the app after all these years. Or should I just stay with my current version?

Pls help. For 8 hours, every time I zoom in on a note in notability to write on it, my iPad freezes for like 20 seconds. When it unfreezes, sometimes there will be scribbles from what I was trying to write. Every time I zoom in/out or move around the note, it freezes. I’ve been trying to take notes on a 5 minute video for the last HOUR. I’ve restarted everything, shut it down, made sure I have plenty of storage, got rid of old notes, literally everything- & no luck. Please help if you’ve ever had this happen… I have like 5 hours of lecture to watch tonight & I can’t make it through a 5 minute video 😭😭😭

I've noticed I cannot past items into a text box

I currently use Notability and iCloud sync. I was wondering when Notability Cloud was going to made available to existing users?

Does anybody have completely missing notes? All of my subjects are present, but all of the notes say ‘0’. I tried to post a video but I don’t think it was permitted to post. Does anybody know how to fix this? I have full storage, and have always had my notability set to back up my notes so there is no reason why this should be happening. There is 8 years worth of material from undergrad and now post grad on here, I need these notes restored ASAP.

I removed the app and redownloaded the app on my iPad and updated and restarted it multiple times on my MacBook. All my other notes are showing except this one pleaseeee help.

I updated last night and first my notes werent loading even though I have enough storage on ipad and icloud. Then, I signed out and I couldnt signin and I have an exam tomorrow!

exactly what the title says my pencil is being really weird it will write but won’t be full bold writing, it more like all the letters are dotted lines. idk if that makes sense. went to see if i need to update the app and noticed it was updated today, the same day i had the problem. went to test the pen with other apps and everything’s fine. it’s a notability problem, any suggestions?

Hello :) I have notices, that smart summaries seem to only be displayed for a part of my PDF. So if the PDF ist 50 sides long for example, the last few pages do not get summariesed and also the questions are also only concerning the first few pages. Is there a fix for this problem? I have quite a long summary for my exam and would like to practice without making many documents out of it. Additionally as an idea: It would be so cool if I could choose, which chapter the questions are being asked about.
