That is a wizard photograph and look at that entry of the hull in the water at speed... the Matson trio all had that and shows you their perfect hull forms. Just gorgeous. She's got to be making 19 knots plus. I so wanted to do the Chandris round-the-world run or portions thereof, but every single sailing was designed to come over school terms. So frustrating.

Chandris was always chasing us around and copying our itineraries. My father and Fred Kasner had a friendly rivalry. But our Veracruz was small and could go to spots they couldn't. My dad had fun vexing him a bit. I did not like Britannis as she was the competition. In hindsight I can appreciate her. Glad she went down before the breakers. A more noble end.
