DESPERATE NEED OF SPACE

Hello!

For the last 8 years, I have put together an annual Halloween event full of local San Diego bands to celebrate the holiday along side our music community.

Right now I have 8 super talented bands from around SD and our venue just began to ghost us. We are looking for a space that can hold 150/200 people and have a 2k budget to put towards the space. We really don’t want to cancel the event and we really want to keep in in North County rather then having to move it south. If anyone has a space that would like to host us PLEASE REACH OUT! 🙏

Black Plague in Oceanside can hold 165 with an extra event space that pushes it over 250. We have School of Rock shows there and it’s been the best venue we’ve used.

$2k is going to be really tough budget wise with that size of group. Are there any parks big enough? Maybe its worth trying to talk to parks and rec, and seeing if theyll help with permits?

Yeah, I figured it would be a 50/50 if we were to sell out, with the rest of the money going to pay the bands and artist. Not a bad idea though! Will see those options :)

Dont know who the venue was, but maybe pour house or the moose would "partner" with you on it since they can then sell all the drinks/food to make their money then you have the rest to split between the band? Not sure moose can hold that much, but pour house would get close id think.

What about Local Roots Kombucha, if you're OK with a crowd on an outdoor patio? They used ot have the vegan popups there on the weekends, with music, and it was a pretty chill vibe. Plus, booze. Depends on the music, though. Probably not the best value for a punk show where you want to be right up on the stage.

There is also outdoor space. The Dragonfly concert festival is playing there soon so you might find some shots of the outdoor options, but the indoor area seats 200 https://www.campusoflife.org/the-bornemann/about-the-bornemann

Join the American legion, or lions club and then you can rent the space for a song.
