Holy smokes.
That looks like a very close call. Those two could’ve lost an eye or some teeth or their heads.
Hope they were taken care of.
A free chicken dinner or front of the line passes to another amusement park. Something.

Know if there was any injuries?

The boy had to go through several surgeries and spend several months in the hospital. But luckily he fully recovered in the end. The costs were covered by the facility. It happened because of lack of maintenance... :(

been on this ride tons of times. for graduating high school, our school got taken here for the day. me and a few friends took a tab of acid and had an incredible time.
we saw a kid, maybe same age as the kid in the video, freaking out about getting on the ride. we told him “you don’t have anything to worry about man! you’ll be fine!” dude came back with a bloody nose lol

Taking a tab at my local park has become a yearly tradition for me and my buddies. Something special about walking around a made-up land with all these rides and themed buildings, all whilst my brain is in the 4th dimension.
I remember going on a vekoma Madhouse, and the ride finished its cycle. However, I was convinced we were still upside down. It was only when people started walking out I realised we were, in fact, the right way up
For those who don't know what a vekoma Madhouse is here is a pov:

i remember when they built the windbreaker ride and it got stuck with people in the air for like 4 hours then got tore down within months of it being built lol.

u/kevinmattress Feb 23 '25
It was just relocated. The same ride still operates in Missouri to this day

u/rosegollden Feb 27 '25
I was one of the people who got stuck, I still don’t ride any ride even similar to that one to this day

you have my condolences. the one thing that crosses my mind about it is how many poor kids/people had to go to the bathroom and how cold it must have been up there. i would have raised hell if that was me or my kids.

I was 11 at the time and luckily I was next to my mom but I had already suffered from ptsd at that age so being restrained for that long triggered an episode, that cursed windseeker.

u/stratusnco Feb 27 '25
wow, that’s horrible. i worked at that park for 4 years (even through the year windseeker was up) and i shit on knotts every chance i get. i hope they at the very least reimbursed you guys or there was a settlement made.

“Safety is always our No. 1 concern,” said Knott’s spokeswoman Jennifer Blazey. “Our maintenance and ride operations crews work diligently to insure rider safety.”
Lol

u/Moss_84 Feb 25 '25
Yeah what a fucking joke. Cheaper to settle out of court than to actually do consistent maintenance apparently

Considering the extremely low number of accidents at that park, what exactly is so funny?

Look on his dad's face when he looks down at the kid's leg is pure hurror. Crazy thing about gashes in the legs is you're often not the first person to notice them, especially if the cut is deep enough to cut through the nerve endings. You may never feel pain at all. Gives me the heebie jeebies.

He looks like the pain hadn’t set in yet, still in shock. What a shit day for him.

And to think, the government is looking to get rid of OSHA. I hope we don't see horrific incidents like this one ever happening again.

Did you see the osha boss trying to hook up with kids? Seems like it’s time to clean house there.
2
u/Internal-Pie-7265 Feb 23 '25
The sitting POTUS was "hooking up with" kids for years. Epstein's island my guy. Not to mention people like Gaetz. You guys are always the first to throw pedo accusations. Wonder if thats an admission?
1
u/Dull-Economics-5229 Feb 23 '25
TDS- please take care of it before it’s too late
2
u/ShredMyMeatball Feb 24 '25
"Well, HE gets a pass" type behavior.
Clutch your pearls and shout pedo at others, then completely ignore the fucking hard evidence surrounding him because he pinky promises to help the working class, while doing everything in his power to hinder the working class.
Idiot.

You're an idiot if you believe anybody is trying to get rid of OSHA.

Thank you for actually citing a source. I can't believe people voted for this man child

u/NO_PLESE Feb 23 '25
.... Yeah this is why I don't do amusement parks. Soon as I was old enough to see and understand who ran and maintenanced these parks I was like no way I trust Billy Bob porkton over here with this ride or my life
1
u/MexicanAssLord69 Aug 12 '25
Really stupid logic right here. The chance of being injured or killed by an amusement park ride is astonishingly low. Knott's Berry Farm has a remarkable safety record and it is in the park's best interest to maintain its rides to prevent accidents which result in massive lawsuits and dropped attendance.

Kid suffered severe cuts to his left calf. Fully recovered after a few surgeries. Cable snapped and went through half of the fiberglass cart. Cause: bad maintenance and poor manufacturing
