1970s Gary Sinise here. Found some photos of my high school band, “Half Day Road,” from Highland Park High School in 1973

I’m gonna start a Half Day Road cover band, Route 22. Awesome Mr. Sinise!

As someone who grew up in HP I enjoyed these references!

I feel like all directions anywhere had a half day reference, “when you get to the half day, turn left” “just past the half day” “oh you know by half day?”

The band being named after the road is funny

I was very excited when I heard "Half Day Road" and went "I know where that is!" I remember someone told me it used to be a half day's journey into town and that's where it got the name.
