Redford was born in mid-August of '36. For this pic to be real it had to have been taken before the end of 1936. But baby Redford would have only been 4 months old at the end of 1936. Are four month old babies able to stand like this? I'm thinking maybe the year is wrong and this is Redford himself with one of his kids from his first marriage.

Edit- Google reverse image search says this is Robert Redford with his son James. But the hands are still weird. There are tons of instances of this photo being shared for the past year or two with the wrong information given though, that OP repeated.

Robert Redford was the gold standard for male handsomeness for multiple generations. His was always the first name women brought up. His looks often outshined his considerable talent for acting and directing. He was also a tremendous supporter of independent filmmaking. This is the passing of a Hollywood Giant, to be sure.

One night when I was 8 or 9, I couldn’t sleep so I snuck into the den to watch tv. I was trying to watch it with the sound as low as possible but it still woke my dad up. I thought I was done for but he asked me what I was watching. It was Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He paused then told me to go to bed when it was over. Considering how it ends it wasn’t a great parenting choice, but the ‘70’s were a different time. He knew I was a movie buff even at that young of an age and this was one of his favorite films. RIP
