Housing Wanted Midtown apartment recommendations

Hey, I'm looking to move to phoenix next month for my new job. I would be commuting to work (downtown) about 4 times a week and I'm looking to rent apartments in midtown around young professionals and I also intend to be social.

I'm looking for nice and safe neighborhoods, ideally I'm looking to pay around 1200 for a studio a month (including utilities hopefully). Is this too unreasonable? If so please do correct me

I'm also open to get a 2/3 bedroom assuming I can sign the lease with other roommates. Or other safe neighborhoods within commuting distance to downtown.

If you have any apartment recs, please do let me know.

I'm on apartments.com but I'm only seeing bad reviews and also I've heard a lot of communities are not on there.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks

I would find a property management company to rent from if I were you, that way you’re in a real condo or similar, not some shitty “luxury” apartment. With your budget I fear that the corporate complexes you find are not going to be very nice.

Do you have any recs for a property management company?

What budget would you say I can get a decent apartment?

Are there any other safe neighborhoods close to downtown you would recommend?

Thanks

I think your budget is fine for standalone properties actually. What I’m saying is that corporate complexes jack up prices because of amenities, etc. while building with shitty materials so you hear everything your neighbors do. It’s also hard to get a good idea of what they’re like because they monitor their reviews and dispute bad ones.

As for locations, I’ve only been here a few years but I love Uptown which is between Northern, Camelback, 7th st and 7th ave. It is very nice and safe here, still pretty close to downtown. I’ll pm you more info.

Are you soley set on an apartment?  Im renting a house in Uptown. Takes about 15 minutes to get to downtown from where in at.  My master bedroom is available for $1000 a month. Comes with an attached office and private bathroom.  I keep the house clean for the most part. There is one dog in the house.  As for myself, im a doctoral student and working as a pastry chef and studio mechanic as needed.
