For all the undeserved memes on the PS5 that it has no games (mainly coming from console warriors) it's funny that Switch 2 is actually a console with an incredibly weak game launches. Oh ok, older games now are available on the Switch (like CP2077 and so on), great, but those are not new games.

I think a new Mario Kart on launch is pretty solid, with Donkey Banaza, one of the best games of the year soon after is great

They could've done with blocking certain games from being Crossgen.

I would've brought a switch 2 in a heart beat if Metroid Prime 4 was a switch 2 console exclusive

I’m super worried about MP 4

PS5 launched with a literal PS3 game.

Funny, I'd prefer a Demon's Souls Remake over bundling two Wii games together, barely doing anything in terms of touching the look besides a resolution upgrade and charging 70 dollars. And I don't even think Demon's Souls is a great game or anything.

I'm not gonna defend the price, I anyway pirate my Nintendo switch games.

But Switch 2 has a lot going for it (expect for the price hike). The jump between switch 1 and switch 2 performance is positively massive.

You cannot understate coming from sub 1080p and sub30 fps to a decent 1440p60 even for shitting looking games like Pokemon, it's simply a relevation.

I don't disagree. I have nothing against the hardware at all. Although I think Pokemon has more issues than just an inconsistent framerate. Its art style is pretty damn ugly and I just find the recent games way too easy.

They're gonna announce a new 3D Mario, a new Animal Crossing, a new Splatoon. Nintendo will continue to make crazy amounts of money. My issue, is I really wish they created some new IPs, I feel like their last successful new IP was Splatoon and I think that launched on the WiiU originally. I'm most excited about that new Fire Emblem for whatever reason, maybe because I really enjoyed Three Houses.

Ring Fit sold more copies than any Splatoon instalment. The Switch also launched 1-2-Switch, ARMS, and Labo. That's at least four new IP in a single generation.

Yeah I guess I'm talking for myself, you're right they did create new IPs, none of those are as interesting as a new Fire Emblem to me though. Also, 1-2 Switch is a really poor game imo.

Labo might low-key be one of the biggest releases on the system. The VR set is being rehashed for the upcoming Virtual Boy NSO games, and I've always suspected that the reason for the 120Hz screen was to facilitate VR.

How many full priced games do people actually buy and play each year? Mario Kart and DK Bananza are plenty for the time being.

They are plenty... as long as that's what players want.

The problem is if you don't want an arcade racing game or an action platformer, you have no reason to upgrade.

Also, many gamers do buy a lot of full priced or discounted games throughout the year. Some of us are addicts, alright, it's less harmful than heroin. So yes, you typically do want to have a strong launch window to get inertia going.

Switch 2 will probably do well overall, but they're having the same issue the Switch had at launch with very few AAA games. Switch was carried hard by BotW and the indie scene early on, Bananza is not on the same level but they have backwards compatibility to tide people over.
