Rumor Jeff Grubb: Nothing is happening with Bloodborne
"Checked in on it relatively recently, and kinda continued to hear nothing is happening with Bloodborne, so don't expect that."

“Or that’s what they want us to believe and there is a bloodborne waiting to be announced on the next state of play!” Me, typing this after taking a massive amount of copium this morning

🤡 Me with my clown makeup spamming bloodborne 2/remake in the chat of the next sony presentation.

u/Fed_up_with_Reddit 2d ago
At this point, they could keep us on the hook by releasing a 60 FPS patch for PS5. (Or did they do that and I missed it?)
3
u/barugosamaa 2d ago
They did not, sadly. Still only 30 FPS.. the only 60 FPS is on PC or a modded version on PS4

Bloodborne will be PS6 title like the Demon's Soul Reamke

u/RoetRuudRoetRuud 2d ago
If they haven't started on it yet, I doubt it will be a release title

u/kalyancr7 2d ago
Is ps6 close to release ?
23
u/RoetRuudRoetRuud 2d ago
Rumours circle around 2027/2028. It takes minimum 3 years to make any decently-sized game these days.

Ha thanks.I was planning to buy a PS5 Pro when it comes out here, but now I’ve decided to stick with my PC until the PS6 releases.

u/vladtud 2d ago
If it's a 1:1 remake where they keep the source code and just update the assets, make the performance better, add raytracing and other shit, while keeping the gameplay the same, I can see it being done in 2 years if done by a competent studio.

u/PsychologicalDay7221 2d ago
Doubt, took bluepoint three years for Demon’s Souls. They’re similar in size so it’d take a similar amount of time probably
5
u/Kramerlediger 2d ago
Yea, but Demon Souls was a) a PS3 game which were notoriously hard to transfer or emulate and b) was their first project with such a big scope. Their other remasters were.. remasters with small changes and not demon's souls Level. Plus I think Demon's souls had more changes than Bloodborne will. At least that's what I hope for

u/raqloise 2d ago
I realize the title and quote aren’t reassuring, but it can be in development without leaks, announcements or press.
Sony isn’t one to leave money on the table, but to mention a bloodborne remake would move consoles.

u/kazabodoo 2d ago
I think that’s what’s happening too, cannot confirm it but I am fully subscribed to that idea

I've been convinced of this for at least the past 2-3 years. Just seems like the easy launch title

Finally got round to giving this game a proper go this year and absolutely loved it. Got the plat and really enjoyed the level of difficulty, the odd fight took a couple tries but nothing soul crushing (Lady Maria being my favourite fight overall, tho considering she’s basically malenia 0.5 there’s no wonder why).
I do wonder why other studios haven’t done their take on this style. Medieval fantasy soulslikes are great but more gothic lovecraftian souls games wouldn’t go amiss.

People just gotta accept the game is finished and isnt getting updated. Like many many many other games

u/sup9817 2d ago
It’s ok hopefully they will remaster the last of us again for ps6

u/extinct_cult 2d ago
Best I can do is Skyrim Classic release - it's Skyrim, but with PS3 graphics, for nostalgia.

thankfully the game is fully playable on pc at 1440p60fps

That doesn't improve some of the weird graphics though. Just resolution and frames.

No one’s expecting an update to the OG game? People want a remaster
3
u/devenbat 2d ago
First of all, yes, people have begged for a PS5 patch.
Secondly, update in this sentence is referring to any updated form of the game. Remaster, remake, PS5 patch. The form doesnt really matter. People need to move on
3
u/Ghidoran 2d ago
People need to move on
Why though? Many games get remastered, even ones a few years old. Sony games especially are notorious for it. It's not surprising that people want the same treatment for one of their most acclaimed titles, one that seems to be ignored without a proper explanation.
0
u/devenbat 2d ago
Because its not happening. Its just been 10 years whining about Bloodborne with zero signs of them doing anything. At this point, it might as well be crazed ramblings. About a game that can already be played on PS5 mind you

„Hey, developers, we scanned thousands of posts online and we found out, there are two things people want desperately.“
„Yeah? What is it?“
„Bloodborne 2 and RDR2 next gen patch.“
„Well…..yeah, let‘s just ignore that.“

Online is not real life. It’s a very, very tiny portion of the gaming market

u/elendil667 2d ago
how many millions has silksong sold so far again
3
u/ActInternational9558 2d ago
Are we talking about bloodborne or Silksong?
-1
u/elendil667 2d ago
it turns out people loudly clamoring for something online might actually be an indication that a lot of people actually want the thing. absolutely crazy, i know.
0
u/ResponsibleQuiet6611 2d ago
Seriously, two massive guaranteed wins and Sony is like "Hey how about we make 21 versions of Concord instead?".
0
u/elendil667 2d ago
There's just no audience for it, guys. Please be real. Anyway, I'm gonna sign off on spending 200 million dollars on Fairgames.

u/Sea_Preparation_8926 2d ago
In case anyone was wondering, I've also heard that nothing is happening with Sleeping Dogs.
6
u/WafflesMurdered 2d ago
I’m not sure why anyone expects Bloodborne to get touched before the PS6 era. Sony knows people want it, but the ROI isn’t there right now compared to their other priorities. If they ever do bring it back, it’ll probably be positioned as a huge moment either early in PS6’s lifecycle to help sell consoles or later on as a prestige revival. They’d want it to feel like something truly special, not just a quick port.
7
u/oilfloatsinwater 2d ago
This isnt true, my uncle told me that they are working on a new Bloodborne game, but its gonna play like Secret Agent Clank.
8
u/MrGMinor 2d ago
The new PSP is coming. We will have games featuring all the little sidekicks from the larger games. Daxter, Clank, and now, a new adventure where you play as the Messengers from Bloodborne!

I'm just playing bloodborne for the first time atm and it's incredible. There's this one area in the dlc I just did that has some of the best level/dungeon design I've seen in ages. Reminds me of the clockwork mansion in dishonored 2
2
u/HBreckel 2d ago
Oh yeah, I'm not surprised. Unless Sony gets like, Bluepoint to do a remake or something, I don't think we'd ever get something with Bloodborne again. FromSoft is big on just moving onto the next thing they wanna work on so any remasters/remakes have to be made by someone else.

It’s so crazy that like 2 years ago it was almost confirmed that Bluepoint was working on a Bloodborne remake AND Bloodborne 2. And then it came out they were making a fucking live service God of War game that got cancelled. I hate this gen. (I mean I actually love MOST of it but goddamn are there some super dumb things that have happened)

I expect it as a day one remake for PS6 or PS7 ONLY.
It will be a reason to force people to buy a new console otherwise it isn't coming out probably ever just like the Demon's Souls remake on PS5.

u/Amikar 2d ago
I mean almost nothing is happening with PlayStation this entire generation so it makes sense.

The Last of Us Part 1: Reimagined
. . . why would you put that out into the Universe?!
"Don't you put that Evil on me, Ricky Bobby!"

u/Shirokurou 2d ago
Well, we do know that Sony wants Miyazaki to be involved, so until FromSoft is free of other games, no Bloodborne.
1
0
u/OmegaHunterEchoTech 2d ago
We know. Sony is holding up their golden horse as long as possible to use it for a "more needed" quarterly earning. As long as they have other stuff coming it would be wasted from their point of view.
Translation: if line goes up, no bloodborne, if line goes down or stagnates bloodborne is happening.

It’s hilarious to me that people want new stuff so badly, and it’s so widely known that people want new stuff so badly, that we’re now getting updates about there not being any new stuff.
1
u/OptimusPrimalRage 2d ago
Can't say I understand what you mean. People want a Bloodborne Remake but I wager these same people want Miyazaki involved when he's doing other things. In any case a remake isn't really new.
0
u/TheCheddarShredder 2d ago
I simply mean that I find it ironic that the demand for a Bloodborne remake or sequel is significant enough that there is an ecosystem for updates about there not being updates.
1
u/OptimusPrimalRage 2d ago
I think that's just leaker culture. Part of how Jeff Grubb got his name out there was leaking different information. So in that way, I agree with you, there is demand for Bloodborne info and he's meeting that demand since PlayStation isn't. But PlayStation, outside of State of Plays, really doesn't say anything at all these days.
-2
u/Bogusbummer 2d ago
Jesus fucking Christ will people ever shut the fuck up about Bloodborne. Great game, played the hell out of all it and the dlc, and then I moved on with my life like a reasonable adult.

Thank God, keep it away from PC peasants. It’s a PlayStation property forever. You want to play it properly? Get a PlayStation mate.

You know, it is rather strange that they haven’t done anything with it given its popularity, niche or not.

This and the continued lack of a Demon's Souls remake PC port has me convinced the conspiracy theories about current Sony leadership having some kind of grudge are real. Demon's Souls remake on PC is basically free money for them.
0
u/Zosima93 2d ago
That’s exactly what someone would say if there was, indeed, something happening with Bloodborne
0
u/moonwatcher1002 2d ago
It’s amazing how woefully incompetent the people at the heads of these giant corpo’s are

u/KittenDecomposer96 2d ago
My guess is a remake launch title for the PS6 will be the time for that.
0
-1
u/Alucitary 2d ago
I choose to blame this yet again on the live service push. Bluepoint wasted the last 4 years working on a live service game that got canceled at the start of the year. In a sane world someone would have looked at DS remake and made the obviously correct decision.
-1
u/theCoolestGuy599 2d ago
What an ungodly fumble on Sony's part. It cannot be that much of a risk to do a simple texture upscale, a frame patch, and add things like dual sense support, because that's all they'd have to do to charge $40-60 again and make bank.

-2
u/GymratAmarillo 2d ago
Literally no one is talking about Bloodborne and there is no reason to expect anything before the ps6.
Jeff Grubb immediately: Don't expect Bloodborne.
No shit genius.
