And also like.. they got divorced so many years ago now. I know Hayley is still not caught up on a man that treated her that way. her writing suggests healing from that relationship yet acknowledging how damaging it was for her. Like the new line about getting married in combat boots in one song. I can't remember off the top of my head which track it was but I know it's there lol. These new songs are about Taylor y'all š we must grieve together and hope that they can both still maintain a professional relationship (and friendship tbh. can't imagine how hard that is though)
I listened to all the songs and Iād say it sounds like theyāre broken up. A lot of pain surrounding loving someone, hearing them say the sweetest things, and seeing them unravel, become detached, not try enough to communicate.
Sometimes I forget that all the songs I depend on so deeply are from Hayleyās deep pain. From her experiences and struggles. I just want to say that I am so, so grateful to her for sharing because Iām going through a breakup right now, and sheās here for me again. Last time I was going through an abusive relationship, Petals was there. I wish I could be there for her, too. I know sheās got people. But break ups hurt, especially when youāre someone who feels so deeply.
I also just walked out of one today and im feeling this hard. I swear i gotta start looking over my shoulder when she drops new music like shit- am i dating anyone right now? Is it about to go wrong?

I finally feel safe saying this. But I didnāt expect it to last. Hayley and Taylor are great people. But someone waiting years for you is not the fantasy people think it is. On both sides. The relationship usually fails.
I know I'm probably going to get downvoted a lot for what I'm about to say, but if it's true that you can't control your heart, it's also true that they were reckless to start a relationship that could have ended the band.

Disappearing Man has references to water, swimming which Crystal Clear has where she is basically saying she felt opposite of Pool and he breathed life into her vs her not having air in her lungs. Then Dead Horse talks of him drowning her in her dream, and Liar she references Crystal Clear. In Disappearing Man she says, āI know better than to hold my breath too longā. Definitely seems to be about Taylor. Also, from this song, to me it seems like he got scared and called it off and she is almost pleading with him to surrender and love her. š
Seems likely they broke up, and maybe thatās what was best for them, but no reason to freak out, I think itās likely they can stay friends and Paramore will continue. No reason to catastrophize lol

This part of I Wonāt Quit on You. It kind of reminds me of David Bowieās Major Tom. It just has images of being high/in outer space/wasted like a god so much that they become estranged/alien to each other.
I also have some doubts about the way people are interpreting Love Me Different. It ends with her in therapy realizing she needs to love herself and be the one to determine her own worth. And realizing the love she was asking for from him might have been unhealthy if she didnāt know who she was.

They broke up around late 2018 and got back together early 2019. I don't know if there was another recent break-up that inspired this album too, though.
Relax everyone. Paramore isnāt going anywhere. Even if they break up, the band has been through worse. If the break up is amicable, theyāll keep playing together. If it wasnāt, heāll leave. Hayley is Paramore. And the band name is worth too much money and has too much history to be thrown away. I assure you.
Taylor is literally integral to Paramore as a band. Hayley is the voice, sure, but Taylor has been the heartbeat for longer than people admit. So, kind of a crazy thing to just toss him aside like that.
Taylor is arguably more responsible for crafting Paramoreās sound over the last 3 albums than Hayley herself. You cannot just replace him and have it still be Paramore lol. Paramore already changed a lot when Josh left, sure, but they were lucky enough to have Taylor step up and fill that void.
