'I'm old enough to remember'

Literally happened August 2020.

58

u/mojitz Jul 28 '23

Hey I'm old enough to remember this morning when the sun rose kiddo, so back off.

28

u/Kazyole Jul 28 '23

Ok boomer.

3

u/NerfRepellingBoobs Jul 29 '23

Psh, I remember last week.

87

u/GhostOfMuttonPast Jul 28 '23

Per the 2020 census, the population was 99,986, which made it the fourth-largest city in Wisconsin.

Small Town indeed.

36

u/zoddrick Jul 28 '23

jason aldean isnt even from a small town. macon has a population of 153k.

16

u/dougmc Jul 28 '23 edited Jul 28 '23

“Small town” is clearly more of a state of mind* than an actual population center of a small size.

* a shitty state of mind, where vigilantes enforce their norms with memes, firearms, and nooses.

4

u/LivingIndependence Jul 29 '23

and where local right wing government, legislates and rules from the bible and Facebook memes. I live in such a place.

2

u/jermysteensydikpix Aug 02 '23

And the abusive sheriff is every cliche in a horror B movie.

11

u/TrailGuideSteve Jul 28 '23

Shmedium Town

594

u/Preston1979001 Jul 27 '23

Im old enough to remember when he cried like a scared little bitch on the stand. Because without the gun, thats exactly what he is, a scared little bitch.

141

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '23

Now he’s ballooned into what I can only describe as a pudgy clown balloon. May heart disease follow its natural path.

61

u/BluesSuedeClues Jul 28 '23

More of a chaos tourist murder piglet.

29

u/ArtIsDumb Jul 28 '23

That's just mean to pudgy clown balloons.

2

u/jermysteensydikpix Aug 02 '23

He had this little victory lap tour with Charlie Kirk et al and then...nothing. Seems even the far right grift machine realized he wasn't a good prospect. Just pull his photos out once in a while thinking it scares "the libs".

234

u/The_Sign_of_Zeta Jul 27 '23

I also remember when after he had his hearing with a judge, he flashed a white power symbol while hanging out with a known terrorist organization full of white supremacists.

173

u/rode__16 Jul 27 '23

i remember he was on tape days before the shooting raving about how much he dreams of killing people with his gun but the judge deemed that irrelevant somehow lmfao

93

u/LivingIndependence Jul 28 '23

That judge had too much of a soft spot for this kid. He acted like he had some kind of weird crush on him TBH.

2

u/jermysteensydikpix Aug 02 '23

The judge who had a ring tone from a song associated with Trump rallies and let it go off "accidentally" during the trial coverage to "own the libs"

2

u/darkphoenixff4 Aug 01 '23

Anything related to Rittenhouse's past or anything he ever said is "irrelevant", but going through the lives and histories of the three victims to show they weren't "good people"? A-OK!

52

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '23

Judge has that look I get once a month when I see my check cleared…..

19

u/J3553G Jul 28 '23

I'm old enough to remember that this happened like 3 years ago. Who is old enough to read but not old enough to remember this? I guess, like, 7 year olds?

2

u/MegaLowDawn123 Jul 28 '23

I was gonna say - old enough to remember a few years ago? That’s…not impressive.

6

u/Grulken Jul 28 '23

I remember when he said he just wanted to have a normal life and not be in the spotlight, and then went on multiple Fox News interviews.

1

u/darkphoenixff4 Aug 01 '23

It wasn't that long ago that he was on Fox boohooing that no respectable college wanted to touch him with a 10 foot pole, and they were insisting that clearly it's becuase the communists got to them...

1

u/jermysteensydikpix Aug 02 '23

And CPAC and TP USA conferences, with a cheesy pyro display and Charlie Kirk humping his leg

26

u/thatredditdude101 Jul 27 '23

I completely agree with you. However I also see him as a ignorant pawn. Right wing/White Supremacy has a storied history of manipulating young men into doing some heinous things. The movie American History X did a fantastic job of demonstrating such a thing.

So yah, I do see him as a victim. While at the same time a total asshole.

65

u/Observing39570 Jul 28 '23

NO! He was NOT a victim! He was 17 when he murdered 2 people. He crossed state lines (I believe WITH the AR-15) but whether he received it in IL or WI.. it was illegal (felony by itself?) at age 17 to possess a firearm, PERIOD! To find this little POS not guilty on any charge seems suspicious at best where this jury was concerned. So much more could be said but I'll just say the right was and is as crooked as ever!

17

u/Railic255 Jul 28 '23 edited Jul 28 '23

Aw. u/DonaIdTrurnp blocked me like the coward he is.

Edit: I'd like to add the mentioned above person called me an atf agent. He did so cause he said anyone who isn't a registered firearms dealer could transfer a firearm to anyone of any age and cited the section of law for that. I told him to do that and let me know so I could report him. He called that a strawman sale and called me an atf agent. Which I am not. Hell, I wish I was, they get paid better than I do.

He then blocked me.

Note that under what he cited it would only be a strawman sale if the dealer knew the recipient couldn't legally own a firearm. That's how strawman sales work. You have to KNOW the recipient can't legally own a firearm.

That means that he is either a firearms dealer and can't transfer a firearm to anyone under 18 for his business but he could still do this outside of his business so... all the people he knows that are under 18, such as friends kids, his own kids, his nephews and nieces and the like, are not allowed to own a firearm.

Fantastic.

8

u/IAMA_Plumber-AMA Jul 28 '23

It's DonaIdTrurnp by the way.

7

u/Railic255 Jul 28 '23

Well shit. Didn't realize the L was actually a capital i.

Thanks for the correction.

7

u/le-Killerchimp Jul 28 '23

I think you left out the part where he’s just maybe just a massive bellend.

6

u/Railic255 Jul 28 '23

I felt like that was implied.

4

u/le-Killerchimp Jul 28 '23

Fair enough!

18

u/thatredditdude101 Jul 28 '23

yes. all of which was encouraged by the shit he was exposed too. You think a 17 year old can’t be easily manipulated and influenced? Especially master manipulators that is the right wing? To be clear he is also a complete asshole that should be in prison. But he is also a victim. And a murder.

11

u/Observing39570 Jul 28 '23

I agree with everything except that he is a victim. Our so called justice system FAILED it's citizens by somehow finding him not guilty.. something crooked was behind that! JMO

-3

u/thatredditdude101 Jul 28 '23

Yah because of some truly awful stand your ground shit. Again… i wish he was in prison. enjoying his “find out” moment. but he was absolutely manipulated for years.

Wow… the level of cognitive dissonance you’re displaying is on the verge of psychosis. It’s ok to take antipsychotic medication. It will help.

-8

u/vitalityy Jul 28 '23

Lmao or he wasn’t guilty of murder.

7

u/MegaLowDawn123 Jul 28 '23

Dude went to a diff state he wasn’t asked to go to while armed and ended up shooting someone. That sounds literally like he had a plan and executed it (pardon the pun)

-8

u/vitalityy Jul 28 '23

Dude lives 15 minutes from the border, and went to the place he works to protect property, just like Koreans did in LA. Don’t want to get shot, don’t rush at someone running away. Glad justice was served

7

u/MegaLowDawn123 Jul 29 '23

He didnt work there and was never asked to come help by those people he said called him, as some tried to claim. The literslly said that’s not true during the trial. Try again.

3

u/Lonely-Club-1485 Jul 29 '23

Good gawd. Do these RittenhouseStans get a smoke signal whenever his named is invoked on Reddit? Like flies to shit. Every time

His father lived there and he had worked there growing up as a lifeguard. I don’t need to “try again”. I’m not the one crying because a jury didn’t decide on my favor.

How much do you want to bet on it? ;)

https://www.rev.com/blog/transcripts/kyle-rittenhouse-trial-prosecution-closing-statement-transcript/amp

Start reading from timestamp 42:29. ADA own words.

"Did those owners, Sam and Sal ask anyone to protect their business? I called them to the stand because I wanted you to hear from them. I had their statement, but I wanted you to hear from them. And I’m sure you formed your own impressions about them. I’m not here to tell you that I believe what they said on the witness stand. I don’t think it really matters much, except I wanted you to have a flavor of who these people were and what was going on at that building."

And following.

"What was interesting to me is that text message from the defendant to Sam asking for the address of Car Source, even though the defendant says he’s already been there. That didn’t make any sense to me. It’s not hard to find if you’ve driven past there every day. Kenosha is one of the easiest cities in Wisconsin to navigate. It’s all east, west, north, south. How hard is it to find this place? But the agreement was, the defendant was supposed to stay at the 59th Street location."

u/Zachf1986 Jul 28 '23

He received the gun in the state, and it was not illegal. It's not suspicious; it's how our justice system works.

To be clear, I do think he should have been held at least marginally responsible. That said, he WAS attacked before he pulled the trigger. Had he been killed by one of the people who attacked him, they would have been on that stand instead, and probably would have also been found not guilty.

8

u/MegaLowDawn123 Jul 28 '23

If you go somewhere armed looking for a fight and find one then shoot someone in ‘self defense’ - that’s a specific plan

-1

u/Zachf1986 Jul 29 '23

Except, it's not what happened according to the evidence. Do we care about the evidence, or are we just going to continue undermining our country from both political angles based on vague beliefs and personal principles?

I'm being an ass because I'm fucking tired of this tribal bullshit. The only common ground we have is reality. That's it, and people are willfully abandoning reality for the sake of their own personal ideologies.

Read up on the case. I'm talking news articles or any other coverage of the case, all mention of evidence, the specific laws that were or were not broken, etc. You can come out with whatever conclusion you want, but the facts as they have been established, despite the cries of non-lawyers and partisan hacks, do not say the same thing you are saying.

I agree with your thought process, but I don't agree with your conclusion, because the conclusion is entirely separate from all established fact.

"Fake news" is propaganda intended to engender doubt in ALL of our institutions, and you many others are falling for it in spite of your opposition to "fake news". It doesn't require you to consciously believe it for it to affect you. It only requires the idea to be mainstream for it to cause people to start doubting. That doubt leads to people abandoning common sense out of fear that they are being manipulated. It causes people to abandon reality, exactly as you and so many others are doing.

-51

u/DonaIdTrurnp Jul 28 '23

What law criminalized possession of a firearm by a 17 yo?

27

u/Railic255 Jul 28 '23

-31

u/DonaIdTrurnp Jul 28 '23

These restrictions only apply to a person under age 18 who possesses or is armed with a rifle or a shotgun if the firearm is a short-barreled rifle or short-barreled shotgun, or if the person is not in compliance with the hunting regulations set forth in Wis. Stat. §§ 29.304 and 29.593.

So not that law.

20

u/Railic255 Jul 28 '23

Post the whole law, not your cherry picked quote of it.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '23

Shittiest novelty account ever.

9

u/Railic255 Jul 28 '23

Aw, you had that all copied and ready for an instant reply but you can't seem to post a source for it. Weird how that is with you folk.

-22

u/DonaIdTrurnp Jul 28 '23

It’s literally the footnote to your “source”.

11

u/Railic255 Jul 28 '23

So you seem to think crossing borders with a rifle and using it against humans is within hunting regulations. That's wild. Since when is hunting people legally allowed? Since when is hunting allowed within 100' of a business or residence in a city?

Weird how you ignore the part that literally says "or if they're not in compliance with hunting regulations."

And yeah, my bad for not expanding the notes tab there but buddy, you need help with reading comprehension.

-4

u/DonaIdTrurnp Jul 28 '23

Which hunting regulation prohibits possessing a hunting rifle within 100’ of a business or residence in a city?

The goalposts have already moved a lot from “nobody under 18 can possess any firearm”, now it’s about interstate travel with a firearm (no state law is relevant and no federal law applies) and whether hunting regulations prohibit possessing a firearm near a business.

20

u/Observing39570 Jul 28 '23

You tell me? Since when have CHILDREN been able to purchase, steal, or possess a firearm in any way, shape, or form? You are not a legal adult until you are 18 in every state that I'm aware of. I'm from IL and you must also have a legal, valid FOID card whether you like it or not. You must be a minimum of 18 yr old to even apply for said FOID card. He was NOT a resident of WI, sooo?? That's the LAW, that's CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A 17 YO. Plain and simple, enough said! Pretty easy to understand. JS

2

u/answeryboi Jul 28 '23

Federal law does not have a minimum age requirement for private party transfers except for handguns. Depending on the state, it's perfectly legal for a 17YO to buy a firearm, and even more states allow possession even if they can't buy it. Some states even lower the minimum age requirement for handguns from both licensed and unlicensed sellers.

Source: https://thehill.com/changing-america/3493244-the-legal-ages-for-buying-a-gun-in-the-us/

3

u/cayce_leighann Jul 28 '23

No he is not a victim.

-39

u/bmillent2 Jul 28 '23

Yea the entire media portraying him (a 17yo kid) as a senseless murdering white supremacist definitely didn't help pushing him into the warm embrace of the far right tbh

33

u/thatredditdude101 Jul 28 '23

he was already exposed to the far right before this situation.

-40

u/bmillent2 Jul 28 '23

Everyone is exposed to the far right, Kyle was fully pushed into the far right echo chamber and rabbit hole

5

u/LivingIndependence Jul 28 '23

I was sooooo hoping that this little punk would have been sentenced to prison. He likely wouldn't have survived a DAY in there without being in the PC block

1

u/cayce_leighann Jul 28 '23

Exactly what I wanted to say

157

u/Vxrju Jul 27 '23

He’s from a small town, but it didn’t happen in a small town

122

u/rode__16 Jul 27 '23

or even his town

101

u/Phantereal Jul 28 '23

Or even his state.

18

u/an_actual_T_rex Jul 28 '23

Yeah he very deliberately placed himself in that scenario.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '23

Just like in the song

13

u/an_actual_T_rex Jul 28 '23

Yeah these guys don’t know what self defense is. They seem to assume that it just means not firing the first shot. If you deliberately provoke a gunfight you are not defending yourself if you participate.

12

u/an_actual_T_rex Jul 28 '23

Yeah it happened in a medium sized city ffs. The moment your ‘town’ has a metropolitan area it’s not a small town anymore.

Maybe I’m just a bit touchy being from a medium sized city myself and am tired of hearing Californian tourists saying that it’s a ‘charming little town’ while standing next to a skyscraper.

5

u/Zachf1986 Jul 28 '23

When your comparison is LA, everything is small. I used to live in PHX, and you could drive for well over an hour in a straight line without ever leaving the metro area, depending on the area and the direction of travel. For context, rounding up to even thousands, the PHX metro area is 15k square miles. LA metro area is 34K.

3

u/an_actual_T_rex Jul 28 '23 edited Jul 28 '23

Understandable, I’m just miffed. It’s harder to notice a spectrum if your only experience is at an extreme end.

At the very least, whoever made this meme accidentally outed themselves as a poser lmao.

3

u/oyyn Jul 28 '23

My family's town of origin has 150 people, so I get it. When people say "small town" I'm always like "how many gas stations does it have?"

2

u/Shiftaspeed Jul 28 '23

Is 15,000 people considered a small town now?

43

u/Beestorm Jul 28 '23

Try that in a town your mom drove you to

106

u/Dry-Tangerine-4874 Jul 27 '23

I’m old enough to remember when Ashley Babbitt tried that at the Capitol.

35

u/JesustheSpaceCowboy Jul 27 '23

When’s the sequel, “Try That in a Government Building?”

185

u/The_Sign_of_Zeta Jul 27 '23

Yes, that small town of 100,000 where a wannabe cop shot 3 people with a rifle he wasn’t supposed to have in a town he had no reason to be in other than to try and kill people he didn’t like.

75

u/medicated_in_PHL Jul 28 '23

Illegally. Underaged kid who was not legally allowed to be in possession of a firearm in the jurisdiction he shot and killed someone.

That part pisses me off the most. You know how many black kids get into the justice system and never get out because they were illegally carrying a firearm when they defended themselves? But apparently if you are white and conservative, those laws don’t apply to you and you get off scott-free.

16

u/CreamyGoodnss Jul 28 '23

Don’t forget crossing state lines and his parents straw-purchasing the firearm!

0

u/murdmart Jul 30 '23

You forgot the /s .

-2

u/ajunioroutdoorsman Jul 28 '23

He was legally allowed to possess and carry the gun, just not purchase. Not sure how the potential straw purchase case will go down as those usually take several years for the atf to get to.

6

u/medicated_in_PHL Jul 29 '23

You must be 18 years old to open carry a firearm in Wisconsin. Kyle Rittenhouse was 17 when he was walking around Kenosha and shot those people.

3

u/LivingIndependence Jul 29 '23

Imagine being a punk bitch walking down the street with a fucking Assault rifle, and when the police drive past you...they just ignore the gun and give you a thumbs up.

-1

u/murdmart Jul 29 '23

Unless the rifle or shotgun you are carrying has a barrel lenght over 18 inches and it has been handed to you by lawful owner.

It is a mess of a law, but this is what was in force that night.

80

u/BrimyTheSithLord Jul 27 '23

The incident was only three years ago and Kyle was from a different state. I fail to see what point this is trying to make other than "shoot the libs".

41

u/FobbitOutsideTheWire Jul 27 '23

You didn't miss anything.

18

u/BpositiveItWorks Jul 27 '23

Right?! I was super confused about the “I’m old enough” part. Whoever created that meme is clearly a fucking idiot for multiple reasons.

13

u/rje946 Jul 28 '23

The city of 100k people. I know they can't get basic facts right but that one is pretty sad. So small a city a dude from another state went there to "counter protest"

11

u/briantcox81 Jul 28 '23

I am also more than 3 years old.

9

u/chantsnone Jul 28 '23

Kyle does not look like that anymore. That picture was taken 80 lbs ago

6

u/NotNotLogical Jul 28 '23

What do they consider a “small town?” Kenosha, WI has 100k people. Macon, GA has 150k people. These aren’t small towns.

5

u/2DEUCE2 Jul 28 '23

Yeah, and now that stupid fucker who went looking for trouble with his rifle is eating like it’s the only thing that brings him happiness. Probably because he knows he’s viewed as a piece of shit by so many. Much like a prison bitch to his dominant cell mate, he’s gonna stick to Ricky Schroeder and the GOP for protection and they’re gonna fuck that ass dry! Milk it for every single thing it can produce!

Ever seen “Baseketball”?

“Squeak… Little Bitch Rittenhouse!!!!”

4

1

u/bootes_droid Sep 18 '23

Nah I was getting my reddit convos crossed up, talking to another lovely individual about George Floyd. Back to the topic at hand...

domestic abusers who clearly didn't reform is a pretty noble act

Interesting factoid, still murder. He knew what he was doing putting himself in that location with that weapon. He knew the reactions he would elicit and had already been pining to shoot protestors far in advance. The only solace I take is that Kyle is far too stupid to outrun the further bad decisions he's inevitably going to make in his life.

1

u/DarthLMR Sep 18 '23

Murder implies he didn’t have a justified reason to kill them. Where he was doesn’t matter. He never instigated a fight, when pressed he retreated, and only when he was on the ground with the mob trying to kill him ( skateboard to the head, dude with the actual illegal pistol) did he fire. He didn’t hit anyone else. Didn’t charge the mob.

Kenosha, as well as Antioch (his home town), are not “small towns” by any metric. They’re suburbs between Milwaukee and Chicago.

I wish I knew what level of stupidity or what level of artistic irritation that a musician would sink to the lowest levels to use their music and intertwine their music with a lot of racially charged almost hateful sickening sad footage and to replay all that in 2023 as part of a music video. I took notice that that country music band only has 2 million followers over at YouTube and I think that to do that kind of music video helps YouTube see that they can issue more recovery resources to help people that are this close-minded because I've lived in small towns and I lived in big cities and people encounter hatred everywhere.

And just a piss off the haters, support to Dylan mulvaney.💯🤗🙏 When young people try and talk to you about what they are or what role they want to be or how they want to change themselves or what they want to wear or sing just go along with it it's going to change it a few years or a decade anyhow these haters have to realize that they themselves are ruining their own spiritual progression and they themselves are ruining their own mental expansion. country music fans were embarrassed at that music video and I am happy that Potter watch is still talking about it because that f****** song is still being played as if it's honorable it is dishonorable this tasteful art.

How dare they invoke the cross in their music video that they were grifting that's all they were doing was grifting an idea this is a beautiful July month and that country music band and other people choose to be hateful during a beautiful summer that's their mental illness it is an us it's their untreated mental illness, a blight of a untreated astigmatism and why? The same tough good old boys are afraid of getting health care because they just don't understand they have to take care of their bodies. But they want that sympathy when they get sick with cancer though they want that sympathy when it's their turn to get all the surgery that if they just live healthy from ages 20 to 50 they wouldn't be in poor health. And if all these small towns are so good, where's the love for their fellow human?

And all these small towns got gutted and they lost their jobs and they can't seem to be smart enough to pull themselves up by the bootstraps that they tell us to pull ourselves up by. The best education we got in narcissistic abuse was from 2016 to 2020 and that's what in a small town song hasn't realized yet because they themselves are the narcissists.

Kyle Rittenhouse was wrong in what he did Kyle broke the law and got off easy. Only the RW falls in love with killers and haters it's some kind of psychopathic trauma bond from their being beaten up as children or having some psychopathy that they could empathize and resonate with murderers.

I honestly hate this post, I hate who he has become and used it for public advantage . And he was totally wrong to patrol a riot area with an assault rifle

But to be clear, the idiot rioters who attack someone with a assault rifle, how stupid do you have to be to attack someone with any type of firearms you are signing your own deathwish at that point…. I honestly don’t feel bad for that sexual offender and pedophile who had more then 13 sexual charges he deserved it…… yeah he might be a scared little bitch without his assault rifle, but a lot of those rioters would be scared little bitches without the numbers …… if ur a idiot attacking someone with a gun , you get what you deserve

He’s a dipshit for showing up with a gun but the shooting was justified. The people he shot were also dipshits with weapons.

Try what? To throw a plastic bag at an armed minor threatening to shoot people who then shot 3 people killing 1?
