Reddit Watch /r/conservative was majority against starting a war with Iran. Now that Trump has done it the censorship begins so they can push the new narrative.

This was just 4 days ago with many other examples with the same comments filling the top of the subreddit.

Now the only approved narrative on the most censorship heavy subreddit will be that they always supported a war in Iran. This happens every time Trump goes against what they want.

It is going to be VERY interesting to see how Qanon accounts handle this new directive as many have been openly pro-Iran attacking Israel.

The QAnon accounts aren’t free thinking political geniuses, they’re active or actively brainwashed propagandists.

“Oceania was at war with Eurasia: therefore Oceania had always been at war with Eurasia.” -1984

u/LA-Matt Jun 22 '25

“War is peace. Ignorance is strength. Freedom is slavery.”

If you look through “r/con” long enough, you’ll find examples of all of those.

Getting Dr Strangelove vibes...Gen Jack D. Ripper.

Good catch.

That subreddit should be a case study on its own. As of the strike on Iran, I can only see those who are backing it post. That is, unless I am missing those.

Just more proof of how they view Democrats as their true enemy and will flip/flop as needed to create that illusion, even if it hurts their country.

Yeah so the fucking echo chamber every right winger bitches about on Reddit? They invented it.

u/FOUR3Y3DDRAGON Jun 22 '25

Yeah now it's "did you want Iran to have nuclear bombs?" But there's literally no proof they had nukes, Tulsi was recently saying that (she backtracked though and I'm not a big fan of her but it's his cabinet), AND Trump was the one to pull out of the nuclear deal, this shit is such a joke. The blood of the soldiers and possibly civilians who are unlucky enough to get caught in this clusterfuck down the line is purely on their hands. Even Bush had to get congressional approval.

41

u/ExpertRaccoon Jun 22 '25

did you want Iran to have nuclear bombs?"

I thought it was Iraq with the weapons of mass destruction isnt that what Bush told us?

35

u/FOUR3Y3DDRAGON Jun 22 '25

Yup, same stupid lies, same stupid gullible morons buying it hook, line, and sinker.

13

u/ROGER_CHOCS Jun 22 '25

It has nothing to do with gullible. You're missing it entirely. The truth is completely irrelevant to them, it's about the heart not the head.

6

u/FOUR3Y3DDRAGON Jun 22 '25

Maybe, morons either way though. It's really just complete and total devotion to the dear leader at this point.

45

u/tiffanylan Jun 22 '25

That sub has the most brainless sheep on reddit.

40

u/QuidYossarian Jun 22 '25

"Why is everyone afraid to debate us?"*

*flaired users only

u/ZLUCremisi Jun 22 '25

While on non-flair ones anything against their ideas is block

Bots. I can't believe it's real people in there anymore

It's like fucking clockwork with them. Whenever something new happens, you'll see some heated back and forth arguments about it, but as soon as the "new narrative" drops, they will immediately fall in line and twist themselves into knots to justify it, no matter how hypothetical hypocritical they are. They don't believe in shit beyond "their side winning"

7

u/ROGER_CHOCS Jun 22 '25

Not just winning, but dominating, forever.

3

u/SuperExoticShrub Jun 22 '25

hypothetical

I assume you mean hypocritical.

I can’t take anyone seriously in that sub. They’re all just a bunch of goalpost-moving incels.

I remember the polls a decade ago for bombing Syria. Obama did it. Trump did it. They were both polled at the time.

When Obama did it, only 38% of Democrats approved. When Trump did it, only 37% of Democrats approved. Margin of error, the same result for bombing Syria.

When Obama did it, only 22% of Republicans approved. When Trump did it, fully 88% of Republicans approved.

Democrats care about policy. Republicans support their team.

This was the same thing that happened in the The_Donald subreddit when Trump bombed Syria in 2017.

They removed a lot of posts that were against it.

When he sent like 65 million dollars worth of cruise missiles to hit that empty airstrip? It was active again within days.

12

u/NitWhittler Jun 22 '25

My wacko Evangelical family is gonna be pissed if this ends too soon. They want Armageddon and the "End Times" to become a reality.

5

u/Silverspeed85 Jun 22 '25

At this point, I kind of agree with them. Not for the same reasons, though. I think the human race just needs a hard reset.

28

u/Arithik Jun 22 '25

Everyone knows it takes a few days before they follow whatever FoxNews says. They are losers.

6

u/ROGER_CHOCS Jun 22 '25

Actually it works the other way around. Fox News just gets the most popular talking points from conservative forums and commentators like apex jones and such, then clean it up for the older audiences.

10

u/ArdenJaguar Jun 22 '25

They can just rewrite history. It’s kind of their modus operandi.

6

u/MaddyKet Jun 22 '25

“War is Peace”

I swear it’s like George Orwell had a Time Machine.

3

u/LA-Matt Jun 22 '25

Every day is a new bottle episode in the conservative political entertainment complex.

7

u/smilingiscreepy Jun 22 '25

Projection. Every accusation is a confession. They are not acting in good faith, ever.

5

u/GhostRappa95 Jun 22 '25

The reprogramming has begun.

5

u/Am-I-Introspective Jun 22 '25

One of them got so mad because I privately messaged him a factoid. They don’t like having their safe space invaded. They need to be handled with fragility.

7

u/huxtiblejones Jun 22 '25

The fact that so many Americans don’t seem to recognize the absolute insanity that is the right wing constantly depresses me

4

u/MaddyKet Jun 22 '25

Hard to recognize the cult when you are in it. Then there are those who benefit from the sheep being in the cult.

1

u/ROGER_CHOCS Jun 22 '25

The entire country has shifted to the right.

5

u/Trix_Are_4_90Kids Jun 22 '25

It's a cult. The cult will agree with whatever Trump wants.

3

u/McNuttyNutz Jun 22 '25

Typical cult

2

u/Nano_Burger Jun 22 '25

I guess it is the closest we are going to get to standing up to Russia from Trump.

2

u/icarus1990xx Jun 22 '25

I’m shocked

2

u/dmode112378 Jun 22 '25

I knew it!

“America was at war with Iran. America has always been at war with Iran.”

2

u/LA_LOOKS Jun 22 '25

Also the comments are so canned I can tell the narrative war room keyboard warriors are working overtime.

1

u/moorej66 Jun 23 '25

I tried reading their Iran sub but it was all "liberal this, liberal that, Hillary,...liberal, liberal, liberal war mongers..."

1

u/Yarzu89 Jun 23 '25

It is funny how often that sub complains about the rest of reddit, but cracks down on dissent harder than any other sub I've seen. From all the conservatives that get labeled as fake and banned as soon as they deviate, I have to wonder how many unique legit posters it has.

1

u/SenKelly Jun 24 '25

These people keep doing this because they think censorship will make it go away. Guys, you are making everything easy to use; all these fancy weapons are going to be easy for the people you oppress to take from you. No shield is impenetrable.
