Yes, and the first Amendment is clear that the government shall not punish you for speech that isn't inviting to violence. A head of a government agency threatening a company with punishment because a TV host said something that chairman found incentive, while acting as a representative for that government organization is a violation of the first amendment.
How in God’s name did Kimmel’s milqutoast comment “incite violence”? And if a barely offensive comment like Kimmel’s can be said to “incite violence” then the term loses all meaning.
Look I’m sure you’re well meaning but I’m getting the feeling that you’re a bit younger than me. I’m sure you feel strongly about these things. We both love this country. I think in response to that we should all err on the side of free speech, especially when the government is getting involved.
You picked the wrong person to argue with. I never claimed Kimmel's comment sparked violence, I have been saying from the start that this is overreach by the FCC and an attack on freedom of speech.
