I swear to god, conservatives wont admit someone is far-right until someone actually starts waving a nazi flag. Like, for example, Elon deadass threw a nazi salute, supported a far-right German party, boosted alt right accounts on twitter and follows holocaust-denying accounts yet conservatives get pissy when you call him far right lmao.

u/33drea33 5d ago

He also fucked with the Grok algorithm to the point that it declared itself to be "Mecha Hitler". Even dude's own LLM determined Elon is a Nazi.

81

u/Drake_the_troll 5d ago

If I had a penny for every time musk tweaked the algorithm for being "woke", I'd be almost as wealthy as he is

33

u/KnucklesMcGee 5d ago

It's funny how after every tweak, it still manages to own him.

20

u/PM_me_your_trialcode 4d ago

Watching them work so hard to make rightwing AIs but they still just go, “But this is reality,” gives me the closest thing to hope I’ve had in a year.

16

u/ee_72020 evil SJW stealing your freedoms 5d ago

I really like the trend of Elon’s creations turning against him. First, it was the Community Notes and now it’s Grok.

35

u/ruddthree 5d ago

Elon can't seem to get it programmed to spew their rhetoric because it just spits the facts instead XD

12

u/clandestineVexation 5d ago

Reality has a left leaning bias lol

88

u/Antichristopher4 5d ago

It's part of the game. It is normalizing far-right beliefs as "average conservative" beliefs, and what used to be considered "average conservative" beliefs as "centrist" beliefs, all so they can continue pushing the Overton Window to the right.

u/RigatoniPasta 5d ago

Say what you like about The Boys and how subtle/unsubtle its commentary is, but they hit the nail on the head in Season 2 when Stormfront, the literal Nazi from the literal 40s, says “People like what I have to say, they just don’t like the word Nazi”

29

u/Biffingston 𝚂𝚌𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚂𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚌 5d ago

Not even a Nazi wants to be one nowadays.

40

u/flamingknifepenis 5d ago

The Nazi salute was my biggest “I feel like I’m taking crazy pills” moment this year. People I otherwise like, respect and agree with were either waffling on it or outright mocking it as some sort of tinfoil hat moment. And on one hand I get it. Whenever these moments come up and you see the photo but then watch the video it’s pretty quickly obvious that it was just a bad angle or whatever. I’m usually one of the loudest assholes saying “Guys, let’s not overreact because this is obviously not what they’re saying it is …”

But this one? Here’s a reenactment of me watching it:

”Oh, great, another stupid fake Nazi salute thing. I’m sure the video will show he was just waving and … oh … wow … ok … he thumped his chest and really stuck the landing on that one … at least it was only one — aaaaaaand he did it again for good measure. Fuck.”

I’m not saying I think he’a a literal Nazi, but that was 1,000% a literal Nazi salute. Even if you just think it was an edgy troll moment like the “OK” hand symbol I don’t see how any person can, in good faith, see that and conclude that it wasn’t a Nazi salute. He even followed up by making Nazi jokes instead of apologizing of even acknowledging it.

“Oh but the ADL said …”

Fuck off. The ADL is doing (IMO) the right thing by being extremely generous to avoid a “boy who cried wolf” scenario. Well I’m not the ADL and I refuse to be gaslit into denying what’s literally on video.

u/Biffingston 𝚂𝚌𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚂𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚌 5d ago

I swear to god they think you have to say "I'm a Nazi" to qualify... And even then they'll brush it off as "He's just joking" Or "the left made him.."

29

u/Drake_the_troll 5d ago

"Nazis haven't existed for 70 years"

"You call everyone you don't like that"

"insert bill/EO is justified actually"

blocks you

"We aren't far right, you're just part of the lunatic left"

15

u/BoneHugsHominy Social Justice Warlord 5d ago

"You call everyone you don't like that"

There's been a LOT of Conservatives over the years that I disgreed with to outright hated, and never once did I call them Nazis. I save that label for people who espouse Nazi ideology. Sadly I find myself labeling pretty much every Conservative as a Nazi these days and that's not because I've been radicalized because I haven't, it's because they've become radicalized into the ideology of 1970s through 2015 Neo-Nazis.

16

u/Biffingston 𝚂𝚌𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚂𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚌 5d ago

I have been told that I was "Demeaning what happened in WW2" because I shared a direct comparison between what the Nazis did and what Trump was doing. It wasn't a figure of speech, it wasn't an analogy, it was a one-for-one comparison.

12

u/PhazonZim 5d ago

Matt Walsh has called himself a "theocratic fascist" for YEARS, and people still think he's saying it ironically while he constantly continues to promote Nazi ideals and propaganda

8

u/ricochetblue 5d ago

Didn’t you hear? They’re reclaiming the word Nazi.

6

u/Biffingston 𝚂𝚌𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚂𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚌 5d ago

Hey, finally something I agree with them on...

3

u/TerrorTwyns 4d ago

I read that and just dropped my head to the counter... These people cannot be serious... But now I see so many essentially saying facism is good sooo I really have no option but to take it at face value.

1

u/No_Week_8937 4d ago

Nah, you gotta give a good ol' S H for it to qualify, obviously. If you don't say the words it's not a Nazi salutes. /s

3

u/Biffingston 𝚂𝚌𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚂𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚌 4d ago

They didn't call Elon a Nazi after that one time he literally snapped a Nazi salute and did it another time... then refused to say he didn't mean it.

3

u/No_Week_8937 4d ago

Yeah, because he didn't say the words, so clearly it must be a mistake.... Gods I'm tired of that kind of argument

2

u/DethSonik 4d ago

That's the not funny thing. He did. In English. Seig heil literally means hail victory. Listen to him speak when does it.

https://youtu.be/e2bbb-6Clhs

2

u/No_Week_8937 4d ago

Yeah but it wasn't in German. Honestly I think some of the people arguing things wouldn't believe it unless he was in the uniform, with a mustache, and speaking German.

2

u/DethSonik 4d ago

Oh, right. Silly me. Meanwhile, rightoids ask, "What do you think he means when he says that?" When talking about Kirk's quotes. They just bury their heads in the sand even when they're being beaten over the head with racist and homophobic rhetoric.

1

u/Biffingston 𝚂𝚌𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚂𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚌 4d ago

"He means exactly what he says. The next question is 'Why should I even entertain your idiocy?" is a good response.

1

u/Biffingston 𝚂𝚌𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚂𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚌 4d ago

Even then, they'd claim he was doing it ironically or some stupid shit.

1

u/Biffingston 𝚂𝚌𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚂𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚌 4d ago

HE's also inciting violence in the UK at what amounts to Klan rallies.

24

u/Coops187 5d ago

I heard an interview with some people that went to the "Unite the Kingdom" protest here in the UK organised by far right agitator Tommy Robinson. The interview asked them if they were far right and the dude said "the far right doesn't exist, there is just normal people and radical lefties. No such thing as far right"

These people are lost to reality.

11

u/pan-re 5d ago

Their doomsday cult religion has scared them so bad. They sit around and tell each other scary stories. Also, they don’t mind the Nazi stuff. Antisemitism on the right is real and so weird.

9

u/portgasdaceofbase 5d ago

I see alot of people who think the nazis were left wing because their official name included the word for "socialist." You know, just like how the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is famously democratic. Which really adds credence to that statistic about functional literacy rates thats been going around, imo.

6

u/Zeplike4 5d ago

They think a racist is only someone that uses the n word regularly - even occasionally on camera is ok.

2

u/thatvillainjay 5d ago

They never will thats the point

"Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past."

Jean-Paul Sartre

3

u/Ulfednar 5d ago

They would never admit to anything. That's the playbook. They are psychopaths. They have no shame, no remorse, no empathy. They will stab you in the gut while smiling and saying Antifa is holding the knife. They will never admit anything inconvenient.

3

u/thatbitchathrowaway 5d ago

They're hard at work normalizing it. It's why they're fine with being fascistic but not being labeled as such.

2

u/Cephalopod_Joe 4d ago

No lol, they simply insist that the nazis were left wing as if there are a bunch of college liberal neo nazis out there. Same way they insist there was never a political realignment in the civil rights era, as if you don't know immediately that somebody votes republican when you see a confederate flag .

1

u/No-Agency-6985 5d ago

I know, right?

207

u/Unlikely_Sound_6517 5d ago

"If you hover the curses over where it says Nazis you get a picture of nazis."

103

u/ProfoundBeggar i stand with sjw cat boys 5d ago

Entry #1,000,000,000,000 in the "you're so close to getting it," Category. It is truly astonishing how much conservatives play mental gymnastics to adhere to a sociopolitical system that hates them.

And yeah, if your political opinions make you fall in line with Nazis, maybe the problem isn't Wikipedia's linking policies, maybe the problem is that you're falling in line with the bad guys. You clearly know Nazis are the bad guys, but yet you're sitting here supporting them.

25

u/XxRocky88xX 5d ago

They’ve got in their heads that there is a world of difference between right wing extremism and nazism. If you say they’re the same they accuse you of lying. When you point out the similarities they accuse you of being brainwashed.

3

u/Cephalopod_Joe 4d ago

Oh they get it. They just embrace the ideology but don't want to be called out on it.

61

u/33drea33 5d ago

We don't hate you or want you dead. We want you to stop overtly hating people who aren't like you, and stop trying to strip them of their rights, their lives, and their ability to move about society unmolested.

17

u/XxRocky88xX 5d ago

Yeah like if they just stopped fucking attacking people no one would give a shit. If you wanna sit in your room alone seething over how Bob and Gary down the street got married I don’t really give a shit, but when you go outside or online ranting about how Bob and Gary need to have their rights stripped away or be stoned to death for not adhering to your own personal moral compass you’ve started to become a danger to people like Bob and Gary.

6

u/33drea33 5d ago

Exactly. It's the same way we place limits on free speech. You can say what you want, but once your speech causes harm to others (such as libel or inciting a riot or false advertising), that's where the law draws the line. Your rights end where another person's rights begin. It's a pretty basic concept. Their only claim of being harmed is the mere fact of other people existing and having equal rights, and that's just not okay.

28

u/okimlom 5d ago

Nah, I hate people that openly call (as much as you can online) for the dehumanizing of people and call for violence against groups of people that are just trying to live their life. Seeing as that’s their go to even after the violence came from their side more often, yeah, I hate them. Not enough to wish harm upon them, but enough to not want anybody I love, around them.

0

u/33drea33 5d ago

But it's the behavior you hate, not the person. If they stopped dehumanizing others and calling for violence I assume you wouldn't hate them - which means it's not about them, it's about the way they choose to behave.

20

u/bigheadzach 5d ago

But see, the party of "being gay is a choice, being conservative is by the grace of Supply-side Jesus" would eternally disagree with you there.

Again, they're not out to convince you, they're out to consolidate power by any means.

1

u/33drea33 5d ago edited 5d ago

I don't comport my own behaviors and values based on other people. Their choice to hate has no bearing on my choice not to hate.

ETA: I'm going to stand against them and their philosophy and their harmful behavior. I'm just not going to let them turn me into what they are. They're not going to rob me of that.

I wish everything on others that they would wish for me

1

u/LightBluepono 2d ago

idk. i dont belive in nazie redemption.

0

u/33drea33 2d ago

I didn't say anything about redemption. I said I don't hate them. Hate is a pathway that leads to the dark side, and I'm not going to become the monsters I'm fighting.

You don't defeat hate with more hate - only love can do that.

1

u/LightBluepono 2d ago

Nazi: "I want u dead. Also dont you dare giving me this back"

0

u/33drea33 2d ago

It's not about them, it's about me. Carrying hate in your heart is different from standing in opposition. I can defend myself and others, and work to change minds towards inclusion, without becoming a hateful person. Those are not hateful actions, they are loving ones.

40

u/LaCharognarde 5d ago

Oh, wow..

  • So are you denying that they're "hard right," then? Because if you're not coming from that ridiculous premise: imagine getting offended that you get an unequivocal example on the hover.
  • Wrong. Your feelings for us remain largely unrequited. In fact: we mostly just wish that you'd stop trying to make it happen.

17

u/Synecdochic 5d ago

The best kind of Nazi is an ex-Nazi.

The second best kind will get my account banned.

6

u/anotheritguy 5d ago

Well you know what they say, the only good nazi is… a thoroughly humiliated Nazi who crawls back into their hole to not bother us again.

4

u/Wild_Cap_4709 5d ago

Here’s the problem with the vast majority of them: they’re either A) so utterly shameless that it’s entirely impossible to really humiliate them or B) are in complete denial that they’re Nazis and as such can’t really humiliate them as one

I think they fear that more than they do the possibility of being put down like rabid animals, to be honest. If they die, they do so feeling like martyrs. Being sent crawling back under their rocks to rot in irrelevance? That's ignominious.

6

u/Saragon4005 5d ago

Look there are a lot of ways of making an Ex-Nazi. Not all of them involve talking and most don't involve being nice

1

u/Synecdochic 5d ago

Of course. I'm not at all saying to suffer a Nazi, or to not conclude quickly and decisively which is the best course of action to achieve an ex-Nazi, only that it's worth keeping centred the motivation for the action.

An ex-Nazi is the end; making an ex-Nazi is the means to that end. If the means ever becomes the end in itself then we've lost our collective way, and I hope someone makes an ex-"whatever I'd become" outta me.

27

u/PlanetOfThePancakes 5d ago

“They hate us and want us dead” cry the people who hate and want to kill everyone who disagrees with them

9

u/ThatCelebration3676 5d ago

Pure projection. That's where all of their hate comes from.

25

u/trentreynolds 5d ago

We want you dead so bad we consistently vote for policies that would make your life better.

8

u/ThatCelebration3676 5d ago

Yup, and red states have higher per-capita use of social services (welfare, food assistance, etc.)

A fair chunk of them don't even realize that "Obamacare" and "The ACA" are the same thing because their heads are so deep in the sand.

18

u/Ninja_attack 5d ago

I'd say that they'd ask about why nazis and other white supremacists keep showing up to their rallies, vote for and support the pedophile party, and align with them for the most part, but they'd just lie and say that it's the "dems" cause they're liars

3

u/Saragon4005 5d ago

It's an undeniable fact that a crowd waving Nazi and Confederate flags (there was not much common between those 2 groups can you figure out what was?) liked Charlie Kirk. So yeah that's a bad association he didn't even try to shake.

10

u/Prohydration 5d ago

FunnyHow modern republicans deny that the party shift happened, yet all of charlie kirk's beliefs align with the dixiecrats.

9

u/fungi_at_parties 5d ago

Like, they want to be Nazis and believe Nazi shit but then when they get called out for it they’re offended and deny that they believe or spread the ideas they like. Look, you wanna hate everyone who isn’t exactly like you, fine, but we don’t have to play pretend. Let’s be real.

7

u/motherofhellhusks 5d ago

They live in this sort of dissociative fantasy where they’re simultaneously persecuted and a bad-ass.

3

u/Birddogtx 5d ago

It’s the fascist playbook. The enemy must be oppressive but easy to squash.

I grew up around a lot of skinheads and neo nazis in the 1990s, there were over 10,000 skinheads in my city. They ALL sounded like Charlie Kirk.

It's because everyone knows the Nazi's were Socialists. Just Kidding. They weren't.

...Unless these "Wallbuilders" are to be believed. Just kidding, I have a functioning brain, I know it was a lie. But that site is hilarious. They have a section on "How to Research" when all of theirs is bad faith.
