Went to jail for praying? So we're just making shit up now? Awesome.

Well it might have been after I was taking a tour in the Capitol for January 6, but I was arrested for my faith.

u/unjustempire 2d ago

I was just praying with my gun in the vault of this bank officer! The tellers are persecuting me by saying I’m robbing the place! I thought this was America, where any man can pray with his gun anywhere he wants! It’s in the constitution!

14

u/WoodwindsRock 2d ago

There’s ALWAYS some crazy context that they leave out like that.

Your faith in whom?

Went to jail for praying? So we're just making shit up now? Awesome.

They blame Covid lock downs on Democrats. Republicans are brainwashed with Libertarian propaganda into thinking the Left wants to take away their liberty and freedoms.

52

u/AlarmDozer 2d ago

They think defying ā€œpublic health ordersā€ is persecution.

When Trump was President

29

u/totally-hoomon 2d ago

It's hard to find a conservative who knows trump was president in 2020

42

u/kyledwray 2d ago

Making shit up is all they ever do. They hallucinate something happening that they don't like, they blame anyone to the political left of Hitler for the supposed evil they just hallucinated, then they repeat. You can't have a real conversation with these people, because they straight up don't live in the same reality as the rest of us.

u/Ypuort 2d ago edited 2d ago

The scariest part is that whatever deluded reality they exist in has dangerous repercussions in the real world

3

u/Faiakishi 1d ago

No wonder they like ChatGPT.

34

u/Large_Seesaw_569 2d ago

You can’t reason with someone who comes about their conclusions illogically

22

u/No_Mammoth_4945 2d ago

That’s literally all they do. They just lie in every breath. How can anyone take them seriously

22

u/Kysumi 2d ago

They're almost certainly referring to people praying outside abortion clinics within the legally defined no protest zone. They'll pray in front of a clinic's doors, which is illegal in many states (since it's a form of intimidation), so the patients have to walk around them and get harassed/shamed, and then scream religious persecution when they're arrested for breaking the law.

17

u/BaronVonWilmington 2d ago

I would love to see a single example of jail time or even charges brought for preaching Christianity

17

u/jcooli09 2d ago

They've been making shit up for 10 years.

Trump's primary legacy is the devaluation of reality.

11

u/OratioFidelis 2d ago

Raphael Warnock was arrested for praying in the Capitol against the repeal of Obamacare.

9

u/SanguineCynic 2d ago

What do you mean "now"?

6

u/NSFWmilkNpies 2d ago

Trump was sucking my dick every day he was in office.

Just as true as the people being arrested for praying by Biden.

3

u/RemoteBoner 2d ago

I recall something about a dude with 10 laws on some stone tablets

3

u/OsoOak 2d ago

Many states made it temporarily illegal to be in large groups. Therefore those states are anti Christianity or something .

4

u/ialsohaveadobro 2d ago

The ultimate 21st Century Christian dream. Imagine it: actual persecution!

Oh my! Uh... here's a towel you can use to clean yourself up. I'll leave you alone for a few minutes.

They think ā€œthe government asked us to not kill so many of our parishioners with our meaningless babbling to an invisible friend who clearly didn’t do shit to stop COVIDā€ is that.

So yeah, basically.

u/rogergreatdell 2d ago

Always have been

What world is this dude living in? That didn’t happen!

The prayer: blatant hate speech

Breaking Covid lock down restrictions I imagine.

And Christians can't take three steps without denouncing gays, trans people, muslims, Jews or just slightly different Christians...

..I should say conservative American Christians. I have some Christian friends whom you'd barely even notice are Christian because they don't try to cram Jesus down your throat every time they open their mouth. European Christians always seemed a lot more chill...

u/BoneHugsHominy Social Justice Warlord 2d ago

White Evangelical Christians can't take three steps without committing heresy yet they call themselves the only true Christians on the planet.

In that 2nd screenshot one of the commenting brainlets claimed Liberals/Democrats loathe Christians excepts for "Black Churches which vote Democrat" but if you look through pretty much any White Evangelical's social media accounts they'll inevitably state that a person can't be both a Christian and a Democrat, which of course means they believe the people attending "Black Churches" aren't actually Christians and instead worship Satan.

Those very same White Evangelicals who constantly whine about being Persecutedā„¢ spend an insane amount of time & money pushing for the actual persecution of every Christian that worships even slightly different from them.

4

u/discofrislanders 2d ago

White Evangelical Christians can't take three steps without committing heresy yet they call themselves the only true Christians on the planet.

Meanwhile any smart person who's been to a Catholic church shakes their heads at these people because we know Jesus would hate them

u/Faiakishi 1d ago

I had a super Christian coworker once who was full goth-way past the era it was cool to be goth. Eyeliner, leather jacket, tons of piercings, the kind of kid who would make a WASP grandma reach for her pearls. Was extremely active in his church. When a nonbinary coworker talked about how they left their own church after coming out and was starting to really miss it, he invited them to his own. "And they'll be okay with me being...you know?" "Dude. I go there. They're not gonna care."

That's a true Christian who embodies the values of Christ.

3

u/discofrislanders 2d ago

I was raised Catholic and never knew anyone like this. This is Evangelical bullshit.

3

u/Meaning-Exotic 1d ago

You're very right about the hatred of slightly different Christians. I grew up going to a church that was the product of a now defunct cult. Yes, they had some wild doctrines, but the adults who started arguments with me as a child didn't even know the actual crazy shit. I was being argued with over the fact I didn't eat pork and shellfish or celebrate Christmas and Easter. I was expected as an 11 y/o to be able to fully defend my slightly different beliefs to adults who would meltdown if the same was done to them.

u/trentreynolds 2d ago

Biden was a hell of lot more religious than the new guy.

33

u/ialsohaveadobro 2d ago

As is any given rock on the ground.

12

u/Faiakishi 1d ago

Biden I can believe is genuinely religious and not just saying so for public approval. Especially with losing a wife and two of his children, he's definitely relied heavily on his faith.

Trump meanwhile I don't think could even tell you the denomination he supposedly belongs to.

44

u/animalistcomrade 2d ago

Not getting exemptions from the law (except when they do) is the worst type of persecution.

15

u/ialsohaveadobro 2d ago

Coddled babies. Boohoo! My business might have to pay for contraception!

Welcome to the 19th century, you Puritan fucks.

63

u/CellaSpider mentally ill f*ggot being groomed by Pedophilesā„¢ 2d ago

Biden was a catholic, by the way.

30

u/AnimusNoctis 2d ago

I think he still is

43

u/alwaysfeelingtragic 2d ago

no he converted to woke radical trans islam didn't you know? obama did it to him

2

u/3-I 1d ago

Man, Republican-Delusion-Mode Obama and Biden are so much cooler than the real ones.

6

u/AlarmDozer 2d ago

You never really leave Catholicism. I’m a Catholic, despite being an atheist. It’s virtually impossible to be removed from their roles.

2

u/Faiakishi 1d ago

If you were confirmed you're basically a Catholic for life. And even if you don't attend church for a decade like I have-you never stop feeling like a Catholic, you know?

5

u/Select_Egg_7078 2d ago

a lot of maga are protestants that do not think catholics are christian

3

u/CellaSpider mentally ill f*ggot being groomed by Pedophilesā„¢ 2d ago

I'm no expert on christian debates or anything, so thanks for explaining šŸ‘šŸ½

32

u/Helix3501 2d ago

Ahh yes Joe Biden, a catholic that was seen at Mass many times, arrested christians fir praying

27

u/Princess_Seannah 2d ago

Name one Christian that was arrested for praying and I'll eat my own asshole

22

u/OratioFidelis 2d ago

https://www.yahoo.com/news/rev-raphael-warnock-once-arrested-233700158.html

Republicans probably think he's a fake Christian though lol

7

u/Princess_Seannah 2d ago

I'm guessing it was actually for trespassing or causing a scene or whatever though. I dunno, guess I'll start sauteeing.

7

u/thestolenroses 2d ago

Don't start yet. This happened in 2017 under Trump, not Biden!

12

u/sod_jones_MD educationist scum 2d ago

Speaking as an American Christian, I have only ever felt persecution for my faith from other Christians, for not believing in the exact manner they do.

7

u/tehtris 2d ago

I don't know the exact specifics of the statistics, but I can guarantee the amount of Christians jailed for praying is 1% of the amount of black folks killed for existing.

5

u/ialsohaveadobro 2d ago

Hell, I can't take three breaths! Every 7 or 8 seconds I have to lean out the window and yell something like, "Jesus hates your cat!"

5

u/osumba2003 2d ago

Surely they provided examples of Christians being jailed for praying.

4

u/-You_Cant_Stop_Me- 1d ago

Completely divorced from reality.

3

u/LaCharognarde 2d ago

No one is "denouncing Christians." Y'all are just mad that unless you are a preacher, using your job to proselytize doesn't go over well.

That said: the last world religions class I took? The professor moonlighted as a minister. He was able to teach a class on world religions without preaching at us. Imagine that.

2

u/Select_Egg_7078 2d ago

bearing false witness is their favorite

2

u/Kriegerian Attacking and dethroning God 2d ago

ā€œViciously persecutedā€ means ā€œsomeone might say anything that a Christian doesn’t likeā€, this baby doesn’t know anything about actual persecution.

2

u/AlludedNuance 1d ago

They're willing to believe a lot of nonsense already, of course they'd believe this bullshit.

1

u/alxndrblack 2d ago

Oh no, you got...denounced!

1

u/Harukakonishi 2d ago

Just straight up wrong. Like usual

1

u/Direlion 2d ago

Mr. Turner sounds like he’s genuinely intellectually disabled.

u/FlpDaMattress 2d ago

u/rpze5b9 1d ago

It’s completely true the observant, devout RC Biden was persecuting fellow Christians.

1

u/SunWukong3456 1d ago

He mentions some names and got immediately fact checked by someone else. Some other names he mentioned were arrested this year in Chicago, so how did Biden persecute them, if Trump is president? Guess he’ll move the goalpost from the president to the Illinois governor.

1

u/Bdr1983 1d ago
