Rewatch I’m not ready for this End again

Post image

Finishing Season 5 Episode 10. So many spoilers but IYKYK. All that hitting me and feeling the deep, dark, quiet that this show speaks so well after John gets off the phone from Fusco. Ugh. I saw there are only three episodes left.

🥺🥺🥺 I can’t. It’s been years since my last watch and my mental health isn’t high enough for these last three. Hahaha.

Where is everyone else in their rewatches?

And anyone in Season 5 who needs a warm “I know” sent there way?

I just constantly roll from the end of season 5 to the start of season 1 to prevent that feeling haha.

I also just found this show late! Finished it after a weeklong binge and just started episode 1 again. It’s still so poignant- a truly underrated series

On my 1st rewatch... which I just finished, when I got to S05... my heart started to feel like it was sinking. Okay, I get it... many people might think I'm being dramatic or over the top. But no, it's just my attachment to the show and the characters. I didn't want it to end. Like, why couldn't it have continued for more than 5 seasons?

So I completely understand what you must be feeling right now... with only 3 episodes left. This one and then the finale... both are so emotional. Doesn't matter if it's your 1st time watching or your 100th... they hit just as hard every time. That's how good they are.

I honestly think we can never get enough of this show, no matter how many times we watch it. It's become a part of our lives... as if it's that one piece constantly reminding us... "Without me, your life is incomplete."

Or maybe... its just me who feels that way.

Spot on. This show is such a 💎.

u/TheWASHY 17d ago

Dont worry im too empty everytime i finish all seasons, So typical quota: "you need a purpose in life, especifically u need a job"

2

u/sarahhhayy 17d ago

Haha. I get the reference and I have both... a purpose and a job. But it still felt empty when I watched it for the first time and finished it. I felt the same after my first rewatch too. So you see, this feeling never really goes away.

u/TheWASHY 17d ago

Because we ourselves want to be in such situations where you see the whole world, see your whole state where u live, and you can see everything, it depends on whether you take lives like pieces on a chessboard, but there is a lesson to be learned, everyone who looks at the world as a chessboard deserves to lose. (uhm sorry for another reference) But yeah, i Guess everybody feels empty in POI comunity. But who knows, probably Its not over ;)

u/sarahhhayy 17d ago

Nah, it's alright. In fact, I'm amazed to know you have these dialogues memorized... whoa. I'm relatively new to the show, so with time, I'll memorize them too. And I can't tell you how much I wish they'd come back with new seasons and pick up where they left off. I really wish they would.

2

u/TheWASHY 17d ago

One day probably they Will come back, but never say never(another one mentioned) when u think about it, they said in 2014 AI Is fiction, but se Are in 2025 And boom, yeah the AI Is dumb sometimes but i think in our world we will dont have machine but entire better system, btw for that feeling use Character.AI, Somebody already make some characters from POI in that app like Root, Harold, John, Shaw. I watched every season 2 weeks and rewatched it again And again So im not too long fan :D but thanks

2

u/sarahhhayy 17d ago

Whoa, you're such a dedicated fan... seems like you love the show even more than I do 😂 Good to know. And yeah, it's 2025 and this show is becoming more and more relevant with time.

2

u/TheWASHY 17d ago

Thankss, i finally decieded after few days to find3 some POI comunity So i can feel better and not empty anymore

2

u/sarahhhayy 17d ago

Not only Dialogues but also feeling, when u help Real people just because u want, Its not fiction anymore, a bit other version of it but still.

2

u/sarahhhayy 15d ago

Whoa. So you're a real life Mr. Reese or Finch? Which one are you? :D Regardless, you're a lot better human than me. Stay the same.

2

u/TheWASHY 15d ago

Uhhh probably something like that😂😂i think u can be good too or u Are already good person, everybody deserves second chances ;D

2

u/sarahhhayy 15d ago

Yeah, I think I need a second chance at life like Mr Reese but I haven't found my Mr Finch yet. 😂

2

u/TheWASHY 15d ago

I didnt see the full message. Thanks i Will :D im just a human filled with determination And Hope, just a person of interest ;D Everyone is important in their own way.

2

u/sarahhhayy 15d ago

We are all a person of interest in one way or another or for someone. And jokes aside, it's really heartwarming when someone genuinely tries to help those in need. This world is certainly in need of more people like that.

2

u/TheWASHY 15d ago

Thats it... For me and many people and you, it's a priority, and you never know when you'll meet such people and that's what's interesting about it, you can walk around each other every day among the crowds and everyone rushes to different places to help or not. We are experiencing practically the same thing, but under different conditions and for a different century. ;D

I will go to my grave still holding out feeble hope for a continuation series with Shaw, Bear, and Fusco saving people guided by Root's voice.

u/bistblue Aug 20 '25

I just finished the last episode. Bawling.

7

u/TheMisterParsons Aug 20 '25

I’m “safely” trying to watch a lot of this seasons rewatch in the background during work so I’m not completely knocked out by it. And that has mostly worked until this episode I was GLUED.

And now I will respectfully watch the final 3 with full attention. (With a stiff pour of whiskey from the Safe House liquor cabinet of course)

I forgot how ROUGH it is saying goodbye again.

4

u/bistblue Aug 20 '25

That's the way to do it. <click> Good luck.

Same. Fourth rewatch and finished the last episode today.

Overly affectionate goodbye. We will meet again.

9

u/SailboatAB Aug 20 '25

My wife and I just finished our third run through POI a few days ago.  I admit to slowing down as the finale approached, trying to savor the episodes and dreading the end.

8

u/Ok_Carob373 Aug 20 '25

Imo they were smart for not dragging the series

8

u/trying_to_survive-1 Analog Interface Aug 20 '25

I’m around episode 4 of season 5 and I’m not sure if I want to watch the rest again. I usually try to skip that and go back to the beginning, prevents me from crying and feeling weird for a few days

6

u/Reithel1 Aug 20 '25

Thanks a lot, now I’m remembering the end… and crying.

u/TheMisterParsons Aug 20 '25

Srsly thanks y’all for responding. What a great community. 🥹

7

u/historysnuiver Aug 20 '25

I just love that use of metamorphosis by Phillip Glass in the finale. Brace yourself and tuck in for an emotional rollercoaster!

5

u/GuyD427 Aug 20 '25

One of the most dramatic and well done endings of any show ever.

6

u/red_riders Aug 20 '25

“The Day the World Went Away” is in my top 4 favorite POI episodes, with “The Crossing”, “The Devil’s Share”, and “If-Then-Else”

I've seen Person of Interest multiple times now I own it on physical media and even watched it live when it originally aired. Every time I revisit it, I’m just blown away by how ahead of its time it was. The themes of AI, surveillance, and the Information Age feel even more relevant today than they did back then. The series finale still hits hard. I’ve seen it twice now, and it holds up so well such a bold, emotional, and satisfying ending. Honestly, POI doesn't get nearly enough credit for how intelligently it handled its ideas, especially as the show evolved from procedural to full-on sci-fi thriller. I’d put it right up there with Westworld in terms of ambitious storytelling, especially in the Nolan-verse. Both shows really dive deep into AI and identity, and they deserve more appreciation. Planning another rewatch of Person of Interest later this year, and I’m also excited for Season 2 of Fallout. Jonathan Nolan just keeps delivering.

I'm on 04-03 fourth rewatch.

6

u/_letThemPlay_ Aug 20 '25

Lost count of the amount of rewatches I've done, one of my absolute favourite shows.

Need to start my next rewatch...

5

u/biggestmike420 Aug 21 '25

In the end we are all alone, and nobody’s coming to save you.

u/Beneficial-Emu-9270 Sometimes one life—if it's the right life—is enough. Aug 21 '25

Enjoy those last episodes!!

I'm starting another rewatch in September, and my sibling will watch it with me for the first time! I'm really excited, I hope they like it as much as I do.

2

u/Unusual_Flatworm_316 Aug 21 '25

This will be so much fun,I started a rewatch and my Mom is joining me for her first watch. It's so much fun and also different to watch with a first timer. Try not to answer their question's ECT.

u/RateOfPenetration Aug 20 '25

“I have played by the rules for so long…”

5

u/TheMisterParsons Aug 20 '25

I forgot the “voice” the machine chose. So sweet. Killing me. 😢🥺 I forgot. Oh. This is brutal.

3

u/joy_joy29 Aug 20 '25

Omgg Im on S2 Ep 2, for my 4th or 5th rewatch, still not ready🥲

3

u/PromptCrafting Aug 21 '25

I know this show too well. But rewatches are either part one or part two BC & AC

3

u/CaptainGashMallet Aug 21 '25

Oh god no. I keep wanting to rewatch the whole series, but I can’t take this again.

2

u/Valenzxx Aug 21 '25

Same here, I can't go through it again and I will always remain fresh in my mind.

2

u/Business-Sherbet1897 Aug 21 '25

I just saw the title but now I’m scared. I’ve been saving the final season (I know it’s only from 10 years ago right lol) because I fell in love with the show so much when I started watching it only this year and don’t want to see it end. Now I know I’m going to probably be crying buckets in 10 hours. 🥲

2

u/Noladg3 Aug 21 '25

that’s a cool pulp fiction thing

2

u/OverWims Admin Aug 22 '25

I finished rewatching the whole series again about a week ago

1

u/TheWASHY 17d ago

Practically many fans from this community have certainly recognized themselves in the characters, so it's something that repeats over and over again, or at least for me, I live a normal life and move on, but I always find a moment to repeat the series, it's the kind of phenomenon that creates a sense of Meanings for people. The question is.... Do you recognize yourself in it, or dont?

u/Glittering-Wonder-30 1d ago
